Comments (3)I'm cool! Wow! I love that! As for your bin: A bin without a false bottom is fine as well really. I only want mine back because now I feel the bin is too deep but it really is a personal preference. As for upsetting the worms: I must upset mine a lot*grin* I've dumped my bin out to count how many worms I had(when I only had 21 worms). I've dumped it out to remove the flase floor(once I had bought my 1/2 lb). I just pulled almost eveything out again to install that screen including scraping food up out of the bin worms and all(and you should see the babies I have in there now!!!). I also dig around and check everything out once a week and take pictures(I've dug around the bin twice this week and I'll be feeding again tomorrow). Would my worms be happier if I didn't peek at them so much? Probably but I really don't worry about it...after all they are just worms and I am giving them a place to live and food to eat:) Thanks for your post! It's great to know someone thinks I'm cool! My own grade four kid just rolls her eyes at me and my husband thinks my "hobby" is strange:) Cass:)...See MoreLong MIA - Warning long post
Comments (18)Thank you to all of you. Even if I wasn't posting or doing much quilting, I was still here as a lurker or whatever it's called. Before getting back into swing of quilting things, I need to get my quilting things sorted and reorganized. I also want to sew some aprons and a quilted casserole carrier or two for some friends who responded to my request for 5 (got 6) people for a play-it-forward gifts from me. Two nieces and one nephew and 3 other friends. I asked them to provide me with favorite color, activities they enjoy, book types, special treats they like, favorite animals/pets, hobbies to get ideas of what to send them. They agree to post a message and select others to receive surprise from them in exchange. Fun figuring this out and, in some cases, making some things (stuffed cat, stuffed dog -- pin cushion or just cute toy), will make some goodies that ship well (one friend is from Great Britain). Might even do some quilted post cards or cards. Fun things representing hobbies....See MoreCapital Connoisseurian, one year (almost) later...
Comments (18)I essentially want to echo the opinions and descriptions in this post. We purchased an open burner, dual fuel 36" Capital Connoisseurian 6-burner (no grill, no griddle) range that was installed in January and it has simply been a dream. It is so powerful that we had to re-learn how to cook because all the timing changed on how fast things heat up, how fast water boils (much faster!), etc. In addition, as reported above, the simmer is simply amazing, with exquisite control. There is a single dedicated simmer burner, but unless we need the other five for other things, we do not use it much. It is easy to clean. We have to our surprise not used the oven very much. The reason is simple: we're a bit lazy and we also have a double wall oven and use of the upper wall oven means no bending over... In our few uses, the Connoisseurian oven has worked well. When initially installed, we had to call the Capital customer line and they were happy to walk us through the things we did not quite understand. Since then we have had no issues (knock on wood). The Connoisseurian replaced a 13 year old Dacor that I hated pretty much from the day it was installed (after much research). I'm completely delighted with this stove and I'm very glad we purchased it. One of our main reasons for doing so was to get heat high enough to do true high heat wok cooking, so we also purchased the Wok ring. It has been excellent at that as well as everything else. If and when we move, it is probably coming with me. If you love to cook, if you want a truly superb stove, if you don't care about having an "in" brand (e.g. Viking), definitely give this your consideration....See Moremojomom
