Comments (21)There are (or were) the likes of Coquette des Blanches, Louis d'Arzens, Madame Alfred de Rougemont, Madame Gustave Bonnet, Lady Emily Peel, Coquette des Alps, Madame Francois Pittet, Perle des Blanches, and surely others I'm forgetting from just Lacharme. Geschwind's 'Marie Demar' strikes me as belonging in the group as well. The problem is finding any that are still available in the US besides BdN, CdB, LdA, and Marie Demar. I've read in a past thread that Ashdown offered several rarely found Bourbon-Noisettes, but Rogue Valley has not offered them despite receiving Ashdown's stock upon closure. I hope they are planning on releasing them someday, but that seems unlikely at this point. Jay...See MorePlease compare: Morden Blush v. Cinderella Fairy Tale
Comments (10)I have not grown Cinderella Fairy Tale. I only grew Morden Blush for 2-3 years--I got really into fragrance and this one doesn't make the cut for that-- but it had good disease resistance no spray (not perfect but good enough,) some shade tolerance, and set decorative orange hips. A lot to recommend it, really, and now that I've moved and need a few landscape pinks I might consider it again. MB should be more cold hardy (MB was bred for cold hardiness--listed down to zone 2b.) MB sounds like a smaller bush than CFT--I don't think MB grew over 4 feet in zone 7b and it was compact/narrow upright, not arching/spreading. MB didn't stand out as being esp. thorny, but I don't think I ever cut one for a vase....See MorePlease tell me all you know about Blushing Bride
Comments (38)Boy half a zone difference make you guys so far ahead ~ just as George (ego45) reminded me! BB just flashed her virginal gown yesterday ~ 1 so far! QF opened tons on Pops' Day ~ so thrilled & tho both Orig ES did each a quick one, our gloomy/rainy/storm days interrupted the momentum ~ got everyone in a napsy mood & clusters are still just that! Today sun did show up ~ hopefully shake everyone up! Oh but Blue Frost Serrata even in his *dip 'n dot* stage is already giving hints on the trio of colors ~ blue, lavender, pinks & loaded! T&S1 ~ that came frost bitten, is the most advanced w/ all sorts of new canes & clusters - ready to flash soon ~ in the most ideal site, the hole I prep'd last Fall. I clipped all the blooms she came in to speed up these new ones! T&S2 & T&S3 are doing fine w/ new canes & new cluster finials tho nowhere close to T&S1's #s Luis - to answer our musings on extra sun exposure ~ definitely affects bloom colors IMO based on observations on these 3 T&S planted in 3 diff exposures ~ then again I'm also considering soil diff in their 3 sites! Sorry ~ for long chit-chat! Follow ups later. OK?!...See MoreP TW
