27 foot wall in family room. How to decorate??

I'm finishing my basement. There's only one wall the TV can go on due to the other walls having windows, doors, etc. The wall it needs to go on is 27 feet long, so it looks lik a ridiculously long wall no matter where on the wall the TV is placed. Any thoughts? The square outline on the wall shows how a 55 inch TV would look.

Make sure not to hang the TV to high you shouldn't have to lift your head much when sitting...

one you get everything in place..that is when you start to add decor..I wouldn't hang anything until all the furniture is in its place and Tv and media cabinet are in place :)

Get a bigger TV! No one ever says they should have bought a smaller one! Make sure you spend a bit more on a swivel/articulating TV wall mount, so you can adjust the viewing angle for the sofa and fitness equipment.

Truth be told, we never were in love with the fireplace. This whole side of the house was completely dated and the fireplace was a big part of it. We even considered covering up the whole brick + fireplace with drywall but wanted to try other things before doing something so drastic and probably expensive. We also thought about painting the cabinets but that is just too scary to me for many reasons! There are so many pictures of painted fireplaces on the net and I almost always love the afters! When I imagine this fireplace the color of the wall, it calms me. The only reason that we haven't done it so far is because 70% of the people who have visited this home(which is like maybe 10 people...we just moved!:) ) say they like it! About the boho look...I love it but I never thought that this room would get anywhere close to that. Not with our couch and the cabinets etc. This room was about making puzzles, coloring, reading and watching TV. I have a blank slate in my living room, which I am truly excited about! That will be hopefully everything I want it to be especially since it is so bright! Hmm..Although when I look at my pinned pictures, I feel like I might need to have a healthy balance of what I love and what can be done here. This is so tough! Oh and I think DH likes it...he was too tired to jump around like DD so I couldn't really tell!:P AnnieDeighnaugh, the brick stain sounds interesting, will look into that. Here are some pictures I had pinned with dark couch in mind... With Ikat fabric on the back on the couch... More fabric on the couch, and I love the pillow, and more spaces that I just love... One more and I promise I am done!! Someone asked about windows. I have no clue. One option I thought was to have an extra long rod that extends beyond the windows and have curtain panels at the ends. So the eye will be tricked into thinking the windows are larger and none of the glass will be covered. I also wanted to hang them high. Haven't had any other ideas!

After painting I would perhaps try a couple of things on the hearth....plant, basket, sculpture...? I would be inclined to NOT draw attention to the mantel.

I vote for keeping the pine as an accent wall. While looking at the comments on your pine wall, an ad came up for Ted's Vintage Art Prints - https://tedsvintageart.com/ . I think two or three of these ( maybe 24"x36") would look good on your wall. You could frame them or mount them on foam core. I would take out the fluorescent lights and add interesting floor lamps. Get a bigger stylish clock and hang a little lower.

Repose walls and white cabinets will look great. So will the espresso. That is very dark brown, like coffee, right? I love picture frames that are simple flat panel espresso colored/stained wood where you can see the wood grain but they look like wonderful dark coffee and they are a good two inches wide on a big poster. (Yikes, I always see things in terms of food, granite counters look like vanilla fudge, or jamoca almond fudge ice cream, or nougat candy. I really couldn't do that, I'd be running to the store all the time!) There is a frequent commenter here, Anglophilia who used I think repose grey on her walls and white on her cabinets, or was it white on her walls and repose grey on her cabinets? I can't remember! Why not invite her on this thread and ask her. Is that an actual ledge that divides the upper and lower sections? If so, I think I'd get a long console and actually stand the TV on it, rather than hanging it, so you can put it at the right height, which is about the height of the current small TV stand in the photo, spanning that ledge/divide.

But I wouldn't think of how to decorate that long wall; rather, think about how to subdivide the room into zones. At nearly 30 feet, it will never really work as a single arrangement of furniture -- slide the couch, TV, and other stuff down toward one end a bit, and then there should be a smaller space at the other end for something else, whether that's a game table, or a bar, or a reading chair and bookcase, or...

Acm, yes I agree, I think I need to look more at dividing the room into zones. I think my issue is how to break up the 30 foot wall so it looks lik it belongs in two separate areas if that makes sense.

We built an addition onto our house in St Louis. It was built where an old concrete deck over the basement garage was. It was 9 1/2 ft wide and 32 ft long. My husband said we should have it decorated by a manufacturer of a bowling alley.

We built bookcases over cabinets the entire length of the room - no windows on that side due to how narrow the area was outside to the next house. We left an alcove at one end for a small sofa - shelf up above over the top of the alcove. That end of the room had the TV, the sofa, two club chairs and an antique chest. Halfway down the room, we had a folding DR table my young daughter used for homework. At the end, was my husband's desk in front of a back window. It worked very well and gave us tons of storage in the cabinets below the book shelves and room for all our books (we have a LOT) and an aquarium for my son.

The square on the wall puts the T.V at too high for proper viewing. Check out Besta from Ikea you can custom work the pieces for your space and storage is never a bad thing in a media room.
