Pls. help my choose an accent pillow for my bed
Comments (74)As an update, I ended up ordering the ruffled ivory euroshams from eBay. I also decided I prefer to keep the duvet at the bottom of my bed so most of the pillow options I was considering don't look so well next to the ivory coverlet. Once the shams come in, then I will revisit if I want to add an accent pillow or not. I still like the butterfly pillow the best, though it's no longer available, so may just wait until I find that just right pillow. Meanwhile, I am thinking of replacing the gold sheers with ivory colored ones which should tie in nicely with the ivory euroshams. Thanks for all of the feedback!...See MoreShould I put lower cabinets in my pantry? Help me think it through pls
Comments (18)"Veering: I think Costco , SAMs, etc can be a quick trip to a fat farm, or a poor house," Yes, if you're an impulse shopper and/or haven't done your homework regarding what works and what doesn't in your family. Just like shopping anywhere, IMO. I love Costco even in a household of 1 person, but I know what I want and don't want, what I'll use and won't use, etc. I buy things that will store well and I will use up (things like dishwasher detergent, garbage bags, contact lens solution, body lotion, batteries, etc). Outsized packaging is something I figured out easily how to deal with back when I had a little kitchen with awkward shelves (2 kitchens ago), and I decant many things (from white vinegar to baking flour) into reusable jars. To each his/her own -- I'm more likely to be an impulse buyer at Home Depot than I am at Costco....See MorePLS HELP ME LOVE MY NEW KITCHEN
Comments (31)Thank you all some much, you help me a lot and psychologically to feel better that I am going to leave my country style kitchen. Also you helped me understand what are my main dislikes in this kitchen. One thing I realized from your comments is that it is all too "orange"(cabinets and floor) and black, two colors that I really don't like . Also I feel too that is not worth to paint the cabinets or replace the handles(probably it would be very expensive or a disaster to do so DIY)..so i would focus first in taking out the doors or even the whole thing of the upper cabinets to see if it make a change together with all my country things, or even order new doors for these two upper cabinets, if you have any suggestions in colors in the grey area(I liked last photo in Irene's comment and the backsplash in the Asian kitchen by housegal) would be more than welcome. Also I would love if you could advice me regarding replacing the black table/island with a table(probably my own country style table wouldn't match/you can have a look in my old kitchen photo). Thanks a lot!!! *the space you see next is a small kitchen living room area(can being used as TV room or eating space), the "formal" living room and dinner area is in another room that is not being seen by the kitchen....See MoreEcheveria Purpusorum pruning
Comments (8)Thanks for the advice. I will probably repot it this weekend into something more suitable. I really love purpusorum. Currently trying to grow from seed. Recently had success with sowing E. Lauii (only 1 out of 20 seeds sprouted but it's her about 6 months and going strong). I have another purpusorum growing from a leaf. Was quite surprised at this, as I've heard they don't normally propagate well from leaf cuttings. Anyone else have an luck propagating purpusorum?...See MoreKatherine (SC 9a)
