Comments (4)I'm also happy with my Elux Wavetouch double wall oven, for 3 years now. Watch for rebates, I received some percentage back on mine. I have a Miele Dishwasher that I also love, found a discontinued model in a clearance room for half price. (!!) with full warranty. It really is all that and a cupcake, so what you read is pretty much true. I really like the third rack on top for silverware and utensils. My cooktop is a Miele induction, so I can't help you there, other than to say that it totally rocks and I love it. :-) Seriously, though, if you're looking at the Electrolux, again, watch for rebates. I also have an Electrolux front loader set, and for the last year and a half it's worked very well for me. They also make the Frigidaires, I've heard, they're just a bit smaller. I'll let others chime in on hoods--lots of discussion about those here, and with 6 gas burners you'll have some requirements to meet. Mine is a 42 inch, but it's not all that quiet, though I like the way it looks and works. Best of luck to you! Have fun. Cj...See Morea new look for my 'new to me' kitchen--help!
Comments (4)The pics are kind of tiny so I can't see all he details. Is there a backsplash? I'm thinking you could do a white for a backsplash and white walls and a dirtied yellow on some walls. This would make your beige cabinets look darker and richer. The whole monochromatic look could be punctuated with colors in the accessories. Use some accents of natural wood. Go with chrome or brushed nickle for the hardware instead of black. Is there any way to fit an island into the space? The island could be of another color than the cabinets. The counters seem to bother you and you can't replace them right now you say. A lot of people have had good luck painting their counters. I've never tried it but it is said to have good results and it wears well until they can be replaced. Off course you could paint the cabinets instead too....See MoreHelp me pick a color for my new kitchen pic heavy
Comments (24)Yes Debb, I am going with her recommendation. The potters clay has grown on me and we get started with the painting on Monday. This was not a new build. Our home is about 100 years old with craftsman details. It was a fairly large reno. The addition holds the new kitchen, powder room and mudroom. Our old kitchen is now our dining room and our old dining room is now the eat in portion of the kitchen. Will post pictures as the painting gets underway. Also chose the color for our mudroom. The cubbies are BM James River Gray and I'm doing the walls in Revere Pewter. It is rather small so I can't really get a good picture of the whole room but here are the cubbies that were sprayed by our carpenter for a furniture finish. This is our fun room so I am doing the trim in James River Gray too. The floor is slate. I'm also looking for some fun hooks for the cubbies....See MoreNew house - Please help me spruce up my kitchen
Comments (18)Yes, this is a very easy fix with color on the wall. Yes to a backsplash and yes to paint. Think about painting the ceiling too. Pull the colors from the granite to design the backsplash and then go deep with the wall color to blend in the cabinets rather than have them stick out so starkly. The floor tile already looks good with the cabinetry so that's in your favor. Here is a before of my kitchen ... clearly it wasn't finished in this photo, but what I want you to notice is the paint color. The cabinets look flat even though there's color on the wall. Shortly after we moved in, I repainted to the deep rust color and suddenly the graining and the richness in the wood appeared. I'm sure your kitchen will be a real Wow! once you add some saturated color....See MoreXenia Kairi
