Comments (20)I keep mine in a pot as well, I pretty much leave it outside year round in a really sunny spot. It got an unintentional pruning 2 years ago by a hard freeze and came back from a stump. Now I take mine in during the freezes and have learned to cut off the tips in the spring to encourage branching. I also "pot lifted" a little bit last year, mine has really ugly roots though so I a not sure I did it a favor. :)...See MoreHow close can I plant my tomatoes in really wide deep bed?
Comments (12)Thanks - already started planting 2ft apart (a couple CP and rest BW). Just ran back in the house for cutworm collars, newpaper, and filling a 50-gal barrel with water. I wasn't planning on pruning those, just clipping to remesh fence behind them. I'll plant the determinates closer together (will have to weave those, no room in row next to fence). Martin - thanks for the info on potatoes - think I can sell Red Norland/Pontiac and Yukon Gold for that? I emailed Ag Dept, offered them new potatoes for $4/quart (about 2 lbs) and mature potatoes for $10/half peck(about 7.5 lbs) or $5/2qts(roughly 4lbs). No answer - but they haven't gotten back to me about edamame either and I need to know ASAP so I can plant enough for 30 families!...See MoreMy first post, first adenium
Comments (7)So nice you have warm weather still in the 90's for your adenium. I agree it may be wise to start bringing it in at night but keep watering and keep putting it back out in the sun while your temps are warm enough. That is probably the easiest. Alternatively if you have a heating pad that is safe to set outside, you could put it beneath your plant and set a timer on it so it's only on after dark until morning. You could even drop a mini greenhouse over the plant just for the evenings like a cold frame but leave it open during the day. As you are in zone 10 it may even be sufficient protection through the entire winter and would also provide shelter from rain if you get a cooler, cloudy, wet spell. Anyway, welcome and glad to have you join us! I hope your plant does well for you. If you enjoy it and ever want to try more, we'll encourage you to order some seed in the spring so you may explore the adventure of growing these interesting plants up from tiny babies. Whatever you decide to do, we're glad to help if we are able!...See MoreIngrida (São Paulo/Brazil)
