Small height difference between tile and wood flooring

Hi, first time tiling...I'm tiling a small (~25 sq ft) entry way using 12x12 ceramic tiles. It's on a concrete slab. The tile in the entry way will butt up against engineered hardwood in my living room. I plan on using a t-moulding as a transition.
I already put some self leveling concrete in the area so I'm ready to tile.
My tile is 1/4 inch thick and when I put it next to the existing engineered hardwood there is a 1/4" height difference with the engineered wood being higher.
I'm using a 3/8" x 1/4" trowel when I thinset so will that add 1/8" to my tile height?
If so that would leave a height difference of 1/8" between the wood and tile (I guess it's possible it will be less if the thinset compresses more when I push the tile down?)
How would you handle this? Is this a small enough difference to live with?
Could I just add more thinset to add a bit more height?
Do I need to add another layer of the self leveling concrete and this time make sure it adds 1/8" in height?
Thanks for any help!
