Well, I didn't prune the two older ones (Bartlett Pear and Honeycrisp) any more than I did last year, which is to say, lightly-to-moderately pruned and they flowered fine last year... and I BARELY pruned the two younger apple trees, since they did not have much growth to begin with.... I just can't imagine how I would have pruned off every single branch with flowering capability on 4 different trees, unless I really pruned them super heavily, which I didn't. The Honeycrisp apple got the most pruning this year, but I followed various tutorials and felt I was actually probably not taking enough off. But I am new to this so I guess I could be wrong! In any case, the other 3 only got very lightly pruned. And, no, no flower buds ever showed up at all. I have to get my yard ready for a delivery of 10 tons of gravel thats on its way, but I'll try to take some photos later on so you can see how much I pruned.

I don't believe I have been taking proper care of my citrus trees, just letting them grow and left to their own devices. However, after doing a lot of reading on this forum, I have started fertilizing and watering with rainwater if there has been no rain for a week. The cold weather in Florida has caused all the citrus to bud out beautifully. I have a satsuma that is 6' tall and 5' wide that has plenty of root and lots of leaves, and is 5 yrs in the ground with never a bloom. It has lots of buds on it now and has enough leaves, roots and branches to make some fruit. We are so excited!

Some ideas... do NOT pinch off the flowers; if you do, the plant will just make more flowers. Wait until the flowers are gone and the fruit is set; that is the time for thinning. Not all plants are created equal; so don't stress if one is more advanced than the other... think brothers and sisters. The plants I produce (Meyers) are genetically identical and yet, some produce flowers/fruits at 1 year and others do not... Go figger.

Hello Friends, I wanted to see if someone had some seeds / saplings which they could spare. I am just getting started and needed some help. Here are some of seeds /saplings which I wanted to get. I went to our local nurseries but was unable to find it. 1) Nyctanthes arbor-tristis (Night-flowering Jasmine) also known as Parijaat in India. 2) Fragrant Roses. 3) night blooming jasmine (I bought a couple of plants from our local nursery but they do not have any fragrance to them) 4) Any other strong fragrant trees or fruit trees you may have.
