Hi Lisa What is your first picture of? That's not the same table that is in the DR (or is it) I think your DR table and chairs look quite nice in the DR. The raised panels don't scream formal to me. There are so many ways to accessorize, that you can take that room any way you'd like. Or would you prefer to have a more formal table? You can easily go with a pattern under the sofa. Might add some interest to the room since the sofa is large and solid colored. I'm having trouble visualizing how the sofa room works. What is on the other side? It looks like you enter the room, and have to walk a ways to come around to the sofa. Almost like it should be turned so the seats greet you rather that the back of the sofa. The white table in the corner looks rather lonesome :( Do you plan to keep it there? If so, it needs a chair and maybe a darker color on the table. Hope this helps some. You basically have a blank slate here, so you can go in many directions. You've done a super job with the remodeling. I know what you mean about wanting *one* room to finally be done!

Thanks, blf. That is exactly what I love about this site. Honest criticism! It doesn't tie in with anything. The closest tie-ins might be the leather recliner and the fact that we used to live in Texas! Houzz shows tons of cowhide rugs these days, but maybe the rooms are more contemporary than mine. Maybe the cowhide rug in my room is just trying to hard to be different! Kiki, definitely rent the harp before you buy! You can buy a harp used, too. I did-- I got a gorgeous special order harp, and years later, when I resold, I lost very little (if any) money. The Daphne is a great one to start with because you still get pedal harp tension and all of the mechanics (not the same range, though) but it is very portable compared to concert grands. This was a huge issue for me because I am pretty small. Also easier to fit into a vehicle. I think the green would look lovely. What length are you thinking? I walked into a neighbor's old house which they have been remodeling over the years and what struck me right away was the many different curtain rods used. And it's not exactly an open floor plan but you can see two or three rooms at a glance and my eyes went right to the windows for some reason. Some rods were a lightweight wrought iron look and then next door a chunky wooden rod was used. It's funny, because until I read this post I knew there was "something" about those windows. So like sashasmommy stated, "if the decor and colors are similar then I'd prb.make them the same". Or at least match somewhat.
