New range hood - white or stainless steel?

I am replacing my range hood, just an under cabinet kind, nothing fancy. Just painted cabinets Shell White (still need to paint the toekick area!), white appliances (except the black flat top on the range. New exposed cabinet hinges, knobs and faucet are satin nickel; new sink is stainless. Can I get away w/ a stainless hood, or do I need to go with white?

Sorry the pic's so big; I'm not savvy enough to resize. Ignore the wall color and backsplash; I haven't painted yet (going w/ SW Amazing Gray). haven't decided on flooring yet. Hard to tell in the pic, but the current hood is beige. It's also crooked :).

I'm thinking of one that's a little more modern than the one there now, maybe like this:

Range Hood at Lowes

I don't care for SS appliances, but I do like the range hoods.

Thanks for any suggestions!
