Comments (7)Kay,Blackie stays close to me when I am outside, and I really have to watch where my feet are going,as she will walk a few steps in front of me,and suddenly just lay down right in front of my feet, wanting my attention. She the cat that came here about 7 -8 years ago,so skinny and starving, and I went in the house to see what I could find her to eat, and I gave her some sliced ham.I didnt have cat food. She decided to stay and make this her home, so after she had some kittens,I had her fixed.I have one of her babies in the house, its the one that got hit by a car and lost a hind leg.I tell you what tho, that cat can move with 3 legs. Thank you Rita. Its not too hard to get a good picture of the Hummingbirds.Just have to stand still for a few minutes. They are pretty use to me out there watching them. Debbie, Mine are gone too., now.I will have to go out and bring the feeders in and get them washed up and put away for next sping.Like you, I miss them ,too, already. Julia,Thats a bummer, to have snow already.I can handle the snow, but,I hate the ice storms we usually get every winter. Val, Thank you for that nice comment. Thanks, Cindy. The hummingbirds here are now gone, too.It will seem like forever, waiting for spring again and the birds come back.I some times sit on the front porch a hour just watching the Hummingbirds fight over the feeders, when there is enough for all of them. Comments (11)Any smart phone these days, purchased now, will give good results. Just play smart/dumb when you are in the store and ask for quick hints...like "hey, this is so new to me"...(show them your old flip phone)..."I need and want a photo help lesson now". "show me how to take a pic and how to delete"... That way, when home, you can toy with it...take many pics and delete as you experiment setting up a piece of fruit or veggie here and there trying different lighting...not when a hot meal needs to be on the table...experimenting you will know what works. Just get the basics down if this is your first...then go through the manual.... Ann-t is correct on better phone cameras but often i am satisfied with what i have. A good pic is the one taken, and handy. Our phones are with us always and more often than a side camera bag lugged around. I would follow ann's advice if it fits the budget. (my eyes spin when deciding a new phone and all the gab speak and hidden costs but it is not at all like it used to be). I doubt you will be spending much more than you are now per month? And have a much better tool in your pocket or bag. Or not notice the cost as it is so great having so many options at hand......See MoreIf you love food and want to take a look....
Comments (22)plllog YES it is numero uno ! We are so excited. They are already really busy. We'll see what they do about more help. It only seats 24. And they are turning the tables 2x on the weekends. They started a Happy Hour at 4 PM right after Valentine's and it has really taken off. My son does all the Charcuterie and it is very popular. He has studied with the best in France to learn how to make some amazing cured meats. They also have local cheeses and the locals supply most of the vegetables and fruits now that the weather is getting better. He also gets all his meat and poultry locally. He has a garden plot at Washington and Lee and there are folks that are going to grow specific things for him. All very exciting. Thank you Eliz....you need to go and taste the charcuterie since I saw your blog post on it !! gbsim : WOW ! I will email DIL and ask her tonight. She will surely remember as she does the reservations. What was the name ??? rjr: you are so sweet !! DH made buttermilk pancakes this past Sunday and we had real maple syrup from a friend's Wisconsin trees !! I sure hope you get to go to the Red Hen. Maggie I am so glad you saw it and recognized " us". You are sweet. Thank you . c...See Morevacation some good and some bad
Comments (11)That is so frightening! Guess you won't be doing that again. I'm sorry you had that awful experience. The rest of your vacation sounds like it was wonderful. My son and his friend came on an accident that had just happened. It was similar to yours. A fellow ran into the back of a semi, but in his case the hood of his small truck went under the back of the semi and he was decapitated. Others had stopped to help although there was nothing to be done, so son and friend kept going. Son's friend has nightmares after seeing that. Count your lucky stars that you were not hurt worse....See Morelindac92
