Backbudding on ficus lyrata (bambino)

Hi guys,

I have a ficus lyrata bambino for about a year now. Last year (around July) I pruned it for the first time and it branched in two no problem. This year however it did not. I pruned quite early this year (mid spring) and only one new branch grew off each cut. There are however buds but they don't seem to grow.

I repotted it in July when I discovered that the plant was quite root bound. I pruned the roots and planted it into a gritty like mix.

Is there any hope that these buds will grow at some point? I just pruned it again some weeks ago, no change yet.

Additional question: Whenever my plant overnights on the balcony it develops spots on the leaves (as you can see on the first picture) and the lower leaves yellow much quicker than usual. Is this normal? Remember mine is a dwarf variant so maybe it's simply less resilient.
