Where we are it's supposed to be 92%. I'll probably head to the local park in our small town.

We are at 99.97%...didn't build there because of the eclipse, but look forward to watch from the build site!

I already bought my eclipse glasses!! I am praying it is sunny!!

I'm taking my kids out of school to drive 3 hours south to get to totality. Have our glasses already and the kid are pretty excited (though I'm not sure the 5 yo totally (HA!) gets it).

I live in Michigan, many days the sun is eclipsed by the clouds.

We're driving to TN since IL is not in the path of totality. There's a group of 50 of us heading to a state park for 2 days!

bethiohio3, IL is in the path of totality, but it's very, very south. Carbondale is where we're headed. The Univ here is planning chartered busses to Goreville. Which I think is near Carbondale and near a state park. My only worry is weather.

Bathohio Illinois has the longest duration of totality... You must be from up north.. Ew Chicagoans. lol

Living near DC, I experience a total eclipse almost every day.

I'd go to the actual eclipse place closest to you, even if you stay in/near your car. I saw a total eclipse back in the 80's, and it was awesome. It is interesting indeed if in near totality, but a fully different experience if in the path of full totality. Even though we lacked the (highly, highly recommended) sun toggle/glasses, and we knew enough not to look directly into the sun without them, the shadows through trees cast at total eclipse were a trip in themselves. Go, and do yourself the extra favor of getting the proper eyewear, as you will most certainly (clouds permitting) view things I didn't get to see back in the 80's, and you will see things I never had seen before or since, regarding those shadows!

I'm up in New England, not sure I can get down there, but you live in the vicinity. I'd do it.

SC here as well and we should get about 2 minutes of totality at our new build site. We took the day off though and are pulling the kids from school so we can go wherever the weather is clear. We'll be watching the weather closely as we near the 21st.

If I were you, I'd be repeating the phrase "We are close to the edge of
totality" as many times as I can. It just sounds so, wow.

Long range weather forecast for us already doesn't look good. We've been unusually cool and rainy for about a week, and the pattern looks to persist.

Our build is In central Illinois. Longest total eclipse duration in the world is Carbodale, IL. So the Internet says.

We are about 2 hours from it. Might just hop onboard the old buggy and drive South. I am not sure how much we will get where we are.

65% totality for my area here. I'll only go south to experience once again if I get a go-ahead for lack of cloud coverage by mid-late week next. But hey, if you are only 2 hours away, go for it!

Zorrow....go the day before. Over 38,000 people expected to converge. It will be a mess. My sis is there and we are going to her house. Not a hotel room anywhere. everyone is so excited.

We found out that where we live will get a 90 % eclipse, so we won't be going South. We figured there would be no rooms available at this late date anyway.

We will be at 79% in Southern Utah. About 5 hours away in Idaho, they will be in the totality zone.

We are in building in SE Missouri. We have 2 min 39 seconds of totality. I'm excited! Pulling the kids out of school to go have our own family science lessson!
