Propagation with Al's Gritty Mix

Urbanviews

Hello!! I've had amazing results with Al's Gritty Mix and have learned to adjust the amount of bark and turface with granite or pumice based on plant's water needs and pot type/depth, but haven't been able to optimize propogating with it.

I typically propogate in a 1/2 inch of super pourous cactus soil under a 1/2 inch of pumice and get a good-sized yield. Once they're too big for that, can I put them directly in Gritty Mix, or should I keep them in a more water retentive soil a while longer until they're larger? And if so, when would be a good size to transition to a Gritty Mix? Any tips on these initial grown stages would be helpful!!

these guys have been in this GM for a few months now and have stopped growing:

I tried starting some succulent seeds directly in Gritty Mix and got >10% yield.
