We stopped putting lettuce on our BLTs a few years ago, when it seemed like every head or bunch of lettuce I bought was bitter. Now, I prefer them without the lettuce. If I have avocado on hand, I'll add that to a BLT and call it a BLAT even though there is no lettuce on the sandwich. Go figure!

Nothing fancy here tonight. Grilled hotdogs with sides of coleslaw, sliced tomatoes and cantaloupe.

We have catfish courtesy of DH. He's cooking that, I'm in charge of sides. I'm uninspired, any suggestions?

I have leftovers of sausage peppers mushrooms and onions in marinara sauce I made. We serve it over pasta with parm cheese on top. I use a combo of the hot and sweet italian sausage for that extra kick.

Stuffed cabbage in the oven..ok I ran into ...problems so I did it loose style cabbage with the meat filling formed in balls and topped with more cabbage than tomato sauce.

I pulled the peanut butter out of the pantry this morning and found tiny tiny ants, so tiny I could hardly see them everywhere..they even got into the peanut butter...I had a almost total loss...except a few cans that I removed the label from and washed the can. I am tramatized not only from being grossed out but this loss of food came at a very bad time. I could just cry ...again.

Mama, I'm so sorry about your experience with the ants. I had them in my kitchen last summer and had a dickens of a time getting rid of them. I've not thought of making the 'stuffed cabbage' with meatballs. Will try that sometime.

My supper was pork chops with Stovetop stuffing on top, cooked in crockpot, mashed potatoes and peas/corn.

aok, how about some hush puppies or corn on the cob with the fish along with coleslaw and a fruit salad?

Sorry to hear that, mamapinky. We had an infestation of those little buggers a couple of months ago, but I caught them before they were able to get into the food.

I am sitting in Buffalo Wild Wings right now. Going to have wangs and onion rings. Have not been here in a long time.

We made a trip to Costco today. Some of you can guess what's for dinner at the house where no one cooks. Well, I have some fresh green beans to go with the chicken, and we brought home our favorite garlic bread.

We ended up with catfish, jasmine rice and sauteed veggies - zucchini, onion. snow peas, carrot and mushrooms. Basically the contents of the fridge. Burp.

I made Macaroni Salad earlier today, so broiled salmon, corn on the cob and macaroni salad for supper. Fresh peaches for dessert.

Dominoes pizza is coming to my house. I like leftover pizza for breakfast.

We had lunch at a wonderful Vietnamese restaurant on Wednesday and I really liked their spring rolls and tried to copy them tonight....almost, but not quite. ;-) We are also making beef short ribs, marinated in yummy Chinese inspired spices and flavors, sweet and sour steamed green beans, and rice.

I tell you, those ribs smell fabulous! The ginger, garlic, anise, smoked sesame oil, and soy.....holy cow.

Went out to Dinner at Middle Eastern restaurant. Fava beans appetizer. Chicken kafta. Kind of a variant of a grilled kabob. Rice. Grilled vegetables.

Had planned on a chicken fricassee, but it is just SO darned hot! Instead, I'll cut up two thighs and sautee them with some seasonings and top a crisp cold salad with them. But not until it cools down some.

I had a lovely chicken breast with a parmesan and bread crumb crust. I had roasted zucchini as my side dish.
