Saturday Supper Time?

Do you know what you are having tonight for supper? I am fixing some meatloaf, a baked potato, not sure what else besides Pineapple Peach Dump cake and iced tea. I am starting up a fire in the fireplace insert as I think the house is a bit chilly. Rainy and damp all day outside. What are you fixing tonight?

Pineapple peach? Sounds good Sue!

I've got a pork roast in the slow cooker. Trying a citrus pork recipe I posted earlier this month. Mashed potatoes, broccoli, and the peach dump cake I made this morning with ice cream.

I'm making pizza from scratch, I also have some macaroni salad I just made.

The last of the leftovers! I made my self a turkey, stuffing , cranberry sauce sandwich on white bread! Pumpkin pie for dessert. (Still more of the pie left)

Marilyn, did you make your own cherry pie? It's been a long time since I've made one and I love cherry pie. I found some jars of dark german cherries at Traders Joe's a couple of weeks ago and bought those since I had none here, thought they might make a nice pie. But haven't made it yet - I may drain some of the juice, will have to guess on the sugar. We went to an afternoon birthday party for our great nephew, one year old. I'm very proud of our niece in law, she did a wonderful job executing that party and for more guests than I was expecting to see. Pulled pork sliders, meatballs, salads, fruit. Brownies, cookies, cupcakes. A cake for baby that he wanted no part of! Probably typically, he wasn't too interested in the mountain of presents either but greatly enjoyed the wrapping and tissue paper ;) He mastered very confident walking just yesterday, his actual birthday....a cutie. If we have any more to eat tonight, it may be a cold ham sandwich from a ham I baked Thursday, but we both had plenty to eat about 3:30 PM.

My restless newly retired husband purchased a countertop rotisserie electric oven at Christmas last year. I was really freaked out, but it's his baby so he's in charge. I do nothing. But he's not experienced in buying groceries. Long story short. Giant chicken 5+ lbs.. On the tray at the bottom of the oven he cooked sliced onions and small halved red potatoes. They were packaged conviently in a mesh bag so easy for him to buy. I've never had such hard potatoes in my life. About golf ball size. They didn't even soften up in the microwave. No idea of the variety but no flavor at at all. Even with seasoned chicken fat dripping on them. But tonight was our second meal and Thursday will be our third lol. Maybe I'll make home fries with those little stone spuds tomorrow. Or maybe I should throw them in a pot of boiling water for awhile? seagrass

Dinner's cooking, and it was DH's turn ;) I'll go into the kitchen and make a salad in a few minutes, some packaged au jus. He's cooking potatoes on the grill and a steak. He does the potatoes on the grill like his 'nana' cooked potatoes in her wood oven....peeled, whole, rubbed with olive oil and cooked until slightly crusty on the outside and soft in the middle. When I cook/roast whole potatoes, I scrub and don't peel....but whatever he wants to do to get it onto a plate is fine with me. He's standing in the driveway watching potatoes roast and talking on his cell phone ;0)

I've eaten the same thing on Saturday night since I was a kid, baked beans and hot dogs. Though tonight I'm having a small steak grilled on the gas grill. Oh, and brown bread. DH doesn't like baked beans so he's having a burger and salad.

Down by Farmer's Market to cafeteria for my dinner for lunch per usual: veal cutlet (skipped the gravy, yea) and 7 layer salad..

I'm satisfied.

We're having hash browns with onion, green pepper and smoked sausage and applesauce. Still plenty of the cherry dump cake left--haha!

I had a nice taco salad for supper and tonight we're going out to eat at the country club since we have to use it or lose it. Cordon Bleu and rice sounds good! I should go walk on the treadmill!

I made homemade pot pie I made my mothers recipe,chicken pot pie,I rolled the dough mmmm delicious.I told my hubby if you made this for your boyfriend hed propose immediately, he just laughed.
