A lot of different leftovers, main one being great northern beans and ham. Your meal sounds very good.

Leftovers here, too - ham, pineapple, fennel/zuchinni from last night. Baking a couple of sweet potatoes to go with dinner. There's a BBQ place near us that serves baked sweet potatoes with cinnamon honey butter. That's what I put on ours now. Just mash soft butter with honey, add cinnamon to taste.

It's 7:00 here, we've eaten and cleaned up. I fried cod (coated it in cornflake crumbs and a lemon herb mixture). Roasted some small potatoes and had corn with it as well. It was quite good.

I had kielbasa, sauerkraut and beer simmering away in the crockpot for hours. The house smells heavenly.

Fried up some pierogies to go along.

It's been a gorgeous, balmy day....the whole neighborhood was just buzzing with spring fever activities! Car washing, rototilling, window polishing, yard sale here and there, walking/jogging/speed walking, dog walking, skating, scootering, it's been just wonderful.

In the spirit of the day, I'm going to crank up the Weber with some Competition Briquets and grill some nice, thick chops I've had steeping in a dry rub of my own invention. It's smoky, spicy, and a little sweet.

I picked up some fresh brussels sprouts at Costco and they'll be roasted with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. There's also some leftover mixed grains and rice (with onions and mushrooms) that I'll heat up.

We went to Costco again today and bought the set of 2 electric Oral B toothbrushes that they had. $99.99 for 2 brushes and 2 chargers and 3 heads. That's a heck of a price. We saw it when we were there with our friend yesterday. He was talking about buying a new electric one, and mine doesn't keep a charge well anymore, so if he's serious about buying one, we'll split the cost. Otherwise we'll have 2 sets, which isn't a bad thing either.

All this to say while we were there we grabbed their infamous hotdog and drink and split an order of fries.

We just finished our dinner of a salad with a homemade citrus/balsamic dressing. That's all we need!

I had popcorn because I had a late lunch. I may have some blackberries a bit later.

I think I'll make broccoli & pasta... I simmer chopped broccoli in a little salted water til almost done, saute lots of minced garlic in olive oil then add in the broccoli and serve w/ pasta, crushed red pepper, and parmesan cheese. :)

We went to Costco too. Then went to Texas land and cattle for dinner. Had their famous smoked sliced sirloin and a baked potato. Unfortunately the sirloin, which usually melts in your mouth, was a little chewy tonight. The potato and salad were filling.

Late dinner, egg, rice, cheese & cabbage. One I grew up eating.

I made spaghetti, salad and garlic/Roma bread.

Marilyn, did you make your own cherry pie? It's been a long time since I've made one and I love cherry pie. I found some jars of dark german cherries at Traders Joe's a couple of weeks ago and bought those since I had none here, thought they might make a nice pie. But haven't made it yet - I may drain some of the juice, will have to guess on the sugar.

We went to an afternoon birthday party for our great nephew, one year old. I'm very proud of our niece in law, she did a wonderful job executing that party and for more guests than I was expecting to see. Pulled pork sliders, meatballs, salads, fruit. Brownies, cookies, cupcakes. A cake for baby that he wanted no part of! Probably typically, he wasn't too interested in the mountain of presents either but greatly enjoyed the wrapping and tissue paper ;) He mastered very confident walking just yesterday, his actual birthday....a cutie.

If we have any more to eat tonight, it may be a cold ham sandwich from a ham I baked Thursday, but we both had plenty to eat about 3:30 PM.

I made marinara sauce and meatballs. Served it with a green salad and it was wonderful. My favorite meal.

DH went down the street to Paia Fish Market's branch for huge grilled Ono and Opakapaka 'burgers' w/coleslaw and tomato and tartar sauce. We shared, each getting some of the wahoo and the snapper. Finished the last of the Roselani Chocolate Mac Nut ice cream for dessert. (I think it's not as good as 'last year', but will buy another carton -- "Just to be sure" LOL.)

I used two cans of cherry pie filling, almond extract, a bit more sugar to make my pie. I baked it in a ceramic coated skillet in my oven.
