Redoing a small bathroom- need tile suggestions!
Comments (4)For several reasons I love slate. There are so many variations to choose from, it's durable and retains more heat than most tile, it's wonderful at hiding dirt and is about as natural and earthy as you can get plus (and best of all) it's AFFORDABLE! We just bought Indian Autumn which is a lighter slate that has a mix of ivory, golds, browns, grays, blacks and autumn coppers. Earthy..very earthy....See MoreRedoing two bathrooms smartly (for about 12k)
Comments (4)All I can say is wow. I am always amazed at some of the budgets for projects on the forums. In our area, Central Coast CA, the fabrication for one vanity top would exceed your entire cost for two. We tackle the tasks we can, but 4k in skilled labor wouldn't go very far, unless you had some major skills. I enjoy the thrill of the bargain hunt as much as the next person, and would love to get better at it. Maybe you should blog! Make sure you post pictures and details when finished!...See MoreSons Bathroom Re-do! Pics!
Comments (12)Thanks everyone!! Sherylmole - the counter top is a laminate, we removed the old one, bought the new one for about $75, and had the supplier cut the hole for the sink. My Dh did the work (counter top replacement) and it wasn't hard to replace at all. Daisyadair - we got those tiles at a local tile store. They are Daltile 6 x 6 black glossy. The installer cut them in half to use for the kick plate. Elaine...See MoreBest Bathroom Tile for Boys' Bathroom
Comments (3)" light grout that is impossible to keep clean " A bath used by males is best with epoxy grout. The Pro tiler needs to have experience using this type of grout. I have it in my baths...it is impervious to any stain / dirt....See MoreUser
