I plan to plant some DA climbing roses next to the house foundation (one side of the garage) and would like to know everything I need to know before doing it. Here are some issues that I need to take into account. Please share your inputs. Thanks. Helen

1. Need to plan at least 1 ft from the foundation for the air flow around the roses to prevent diseases and the mulch has be to be 1 ft from the foundation, too.

2. I know rose roots not invasive as other plants' so there won't be any problem with the rose roots affect the house foundation. However, will the water I water the roses affects the house foundation and cause termite problem? If yes, what should I do to avoid that?

3. Support structure: should I set up a trellis against the wall or running wires horizontally? Pros and cons?
