In general oranges can survive to about 28F. They will grow at 15C; but not very fast. I doubt your oranges will get very orange at room temperature; or that you will have enough heat units to make them sweet; but if you are good to your tree, you should have a pretty plant and maybe a few fruits.

It should grow very nicely on its own roots. I am finding that citrus on their own roots seem to grow better at lower temps than their grafted counter plants.

If you put it indoors with good strong lights, they may get warm enough. I have not ripened oranges yet, so let's hope for the best. Good luck!

I have never ripened oranges either, will the the first year. Probably disappointing like the tangelo. First year they did not had any juice in it and tasted bitter. Second year I had about five on the tree and sweet like honey.

If I am right these oranges ripen in the summer when it is hot.

The plant is small; a cutting that was rooted last spring, so it will not produce fruits for next couple of years, at least. And I will not let it fruit for next two seasons even if it would flower. It depends on how it grows.

What encouraged me to buy it, is what Steve said. I've read that they ripen in summer which will ease to reach required temps for sweet fruit, but we'll see.

Perhaps it's too early to talk of fruits when I've not even received the plant ;)
