In terms of overall length, I have from left to right: 48" Freezer(18")/Fridge(30") 3/4 inch side cover panel 120" counter top, therein 36" induction cook top 3/4 inch side cover panel 30" wall ovens 48" pantry (2x24" high cabinets) 2" cover panel to the wall = 249.5" Total I've been going back and forth on the hood. It's probably the most discussed item. Originally we planned to get a custom hood liner built for an insert hood, but now we are leaning towards this very basic BOSCH pull out hood. Minimum mounting clearance over cooktop is 25 3/5". There is no maximum clearance given in the spec sheets. It should come in right around 30-32" clearance (math: 84" tall cab (incl. toe kick) - 36" base cabinets - 15" wall cab to mount the hood to - 2" for the hood hardware = 31"), which is very average as far as I can tell. I was planning to build a custom open cabinet left and right of the hood cabinet which will probably be around 16-17" high to seamlessly integrate the pull-out. See inspiration below.

@Beth H.  The current gray tile is actually pink stone tile that we couldn't identify but had it diamond ground *because it's so hard), steamed cleaned then painted and sealed.  I like the uneven look and the cool feeling of the stone under my feet that you can't get from porcelain or ceramic.  Initially, we were going to replace it but it sits on 2 inches of floated cement and nothing is really level in this house and chose not to go that route hence if we replace it would need to go on top of the current floor and/or repaint. The carpet is inset but if we were to replace the floor then we would fill it in.

Thanks. It is primarily the issues on the GC side. Cabinet design were done a year ago, with the anticipation of using 2cm quartz and the 4cm edge profile, with island being the mitered edge. Cabinet seller indicated to use plywood underlayment for the counter and island. Now the GC along the way asked me to purchase 3cm quartz for the durability of it, saying that we can change all the edge profile to 6cm. There is one cabinet at the corner that would need to open right above the counter, and with this additional height from the 3cm quartz and edge, it may not have enough space to for that cabinet door to open. So I am looking for options -- or maybe just simply switch out the 3cm quartz for 2cm ones. -- I already paid for some pretty expensive quartz, and don't know whether the stone distributor would let me switch (presumably 3cm is more expensive than 2cm, so they might be ok).

I'm trying to avoid the countertop hanging down in front of the cabinet, since it blocks the top rail and looks odd. I am a bit confused. Does the countertop material actually hang down the cabinet face in your area? Here 2cm stone gets 5/8" plywood under it. The edge is then built up to the bottom of the plywood. This gives you a 1.4" countertop height which is then placed on a 34.5" cabinets for pretty close to the standard 36" cabinet height. They don't hang down the cabinet faces unless you have custom built something and asked for that. In your pictures why are they building up your countertop face beyond the single sheet of plywood build up? Just have a smaller buildup on the face and the problem is solved.
