What curtains go with this rug and room?
I'm totally lost in the decorating department! We have beige walls, a chocolate couch with black wood bottom, black tv stand, and brown coffee table with black wood bottom. We wanted to lighten the room up, so we got this nice bright rug that looks great in the room. The problem is the curtains. Can I add another pattern or should I go with plain light blue from the rug? Also what length curtains work with the windows, since one window is 73x50 and has a huge radiator right under it, and the one on the wall next to it doesn't, so should they both have short curtains? This is the stock photo, not my house.

Comments (10)You've got a great space and some versatile pieces. I do think a darker rug would help to anchor the space. Right now everything is essentially off-white minus a few pillows. Figure out what your accent color is and use it in three's i.e. rug, curtains and art work or pillows. 6 years agolast modified: 6 years agoWould love to see a photo. Repeat advise from above for curtains. Natural with small patter. Offhand I would say to hang both sets of curtains just below ceiling level to the floor. Keeping them open. Then use a shade as well for privacy due to the radiator.

6 years agoWe were trying to avoid any type of shades if at all possible due to renting, but would it look terrible to have 63" curtains on both windows? Or are 54" better because 63 would go to just under the top of the radiator, and although the landlord said they don't get hot and aren't a fire hazard I still worry and want them to look good. Here are the windows, excuse the mess we just moved in. The big one with the radiator looks out onto a street corner, so we really need privacy at night, and it faces east so heats up the room at the beginning of the day.

I honestly would get inexpensive roller shades and hang floor to (about 12" from) ceiling curtains. Short curtains really chop up a wall.

6 years agoYou could do inside mount roman shades and avoid contact with radiator. It can be one across all the windows doesn't have to be individual
