What would be the best colour for this accent wall?
I would like a much richer colour than the current white, but something that doesmt clash with the gold frame or the mahogany furniture.
I'm still deciding to go for either more of a Luxe traditional or maybe even a more modern colour to keep the space "trendy". I am considering gold tones, but I've heard some are too yellow or are too "cheesy".
The chandelier is being replaced with a chrystal chandelier, so matching the paint colour with brass's greenish hue shouldn't be an issue.
I feel like if the color isn't right, the room will not feel Luxe, but massively outdated instead, so that's why I'm asking all you talented houzzers out there for a bit of design knowledge! Thank you so much.

6 years agolast modified: 6 years agoI wouldn’t consider that wall to be an accent wall. If you paint it another color than the others, it will visually narrow your room.
To add color to the room think beautiful panels on the slider and a new chandelier.

Comments (12)Get some paint samples of SW Dover White 6385, SW Creamy 7012, and SW Crisp Linen and perhaps some neighboring warm off whites. Comments (5)I don't know your exact shade of color-everybody has their own mental image when hearing yellow/beige-but as somebody who lived with yellow walls..they're actually pretty versatile. I went with a vibrant palette of yellow-brick red-aubergine. Then as time went I added more colors in patterns etc. Blue would work of course. Maybe cornflower blue? Maybe turquoise? White and a bit of black. Greens since they work everwhere..bring a plant and you have a green:) But I also loved adding chartreuse. Look at lot of inspiration(can be decor but can also be art, or nature, and whatnot), and you'll feel what clicks with you the most. Decide what you like more -sharper contrasts? softer ones? As little contrast as possible? Do you want your room to be more upbeat or more quiet? there's no one right answer, we all are different and your personal reaction to colors and their relationships should govern your choices. And always strive to vary your textures. Comments (15)Beautiful kitchen! Right now I am on a teal kick and I have it in my kitchen, family room and living room. In my family room I paired it with with a golden yellow and red. I found an accent pillow with all 3 of those colors in it and picked other accents around it. If you love yellow and orange, I'd run with it. 6 years agoWould paint all walls, not just one. Or paint other walls a lighter shade of same color.

6 years agoYour dining area and furnishings are not ornate enough to support a crystal chandelier. Select a multi light chandelier with fabric shades, paint the walls and select some color coordinated drapery panels.
