Would these 2 chairs work in my living room?
Comments (9)Thanks, everyone. The seller of the first chairs hasn't responded yet, but I just realized that she's an hour away (even though the ad is listed in my county). She's very close to my DD though so if she responds I'll ask my DD to look at them for me. Now that I'm home, I think they will fit in the space, unless they're much larger than they appear in the picture. judithva - thanks so much for posting the picture of your gorgeous living room and weighing in on the comfort factor. I'm going to have to google Charles Faudree tonight - thanks so much for the tip! lindanj - it is the RH large library media unit. I don't think you could easily use the three pieces separately without some modification. The crown molding at the top fits together like a puzzle and the interior sides are finished like the exterior. It's made to bolt together. I've restyled the shelves for a more uniform look since the picture was taken, based on a lot of great advice given by fellow gardenwebbers. I need to post progress pics and get some more feedback!...See MoreColor advice for sofa/chairs/rug
Comments (37)I'd make sure whatever shade of teal you choose complements (it doesn't need to match) the SW Lagoon in the adjoining dining room. The bottom shelves on the tables aren't in play that much because of their size and the fact that they're horizontal and quite low down. It does sound like you have enough grey in the house, especially in nearby rooms. And I think a sofa in grey or any other non-complementary tone will keep the space looking more "cluttered" than you want it to. Having the new sofa and wall color in complementary shades will make for a well-considered, purposeful, cohesive look. Not at all cheesy or whimsical....See MoreDesperately Need Rug Advice for Living Room
Comments (21)Your room is coming along nicely. I do think you need some color and pattern for movement and interest. One thing you can do, if a large wool is too expensive is to layer it on top of a Seagrass rug. I did this in my living room and love the options it gives me to change out rugs while leaving the Seagrass rug as a backdrop. Like this, You can angle a smaller rug, too. I love this rug from esalerugs...See MoreHelp me with my living room/dining room. 2 sofas? and how many chairs?
Comments (13)These are the listing photos from the prior owner. The room is empty and I'm looking for help. In the dining room all I have is a table. I really like this Robin Bruce sofa that a local store has but I was thinking Navy. My husband thinks that is too dark in the room and also not practical with the dog. But I'm really wanting advice on furniture placement/arrangement. Would you do 2 sofas facing each other and tv over fp or put a console on long wall with tv?...See Morefay_fay
