Any movie recommendations?
Comments (31)patti43, I came across this thread while searching for movie ideas for Netflix. Are you aware you can watch movies on your computer? I watched this fantastic Aussie TV series on my computer, the first 3 seasons are the best, but I stuck with it until the end. The shows are like 40 minutes, if you get interrupted it starts where you left off when you return. Needless to say, Netflix is the best $9 we spend a month! Here is a link that might be useful: McLeod's Daughters...See MoreNetflix movie you might like
Comments (8)I watched this weekend as well. Very touching. I also saw Nebraska. Filmed entirely in black and white about an crotchety, aging old man convinced he has won the lottery and his somewhat compassionate son trying to help him keep his dignity. The family characters really made me laugh (and sad) as I could see so much of my own family. A little slow moving but well written and acted....See MoreAny good Netflix movies lately?
Comments (20)We couldn't see what Netflix offered without joining. Once we could see the titles, we found very few titles of interest -- that we had not already seen! Our home library has more recent titles than Netflix. Amazon showed us what's on offer before we signed up. We found recent episodes of two TV programs we wanted to see: "The Americans" Season 3; "The Knick" Season 2. They have "Doc Martin" Season 7, but we can get that once we're home. We looked into streaming because we are on Maui and running out of titles of interest that we can rent for $1.50 from Redbox here. Movies we've enjoyed here from Redbox: Me and Earl and the Dying Girl Black Mass Burnt The Runner Bridge of Spies Truth 99 Homes The Maui library had: Black Swan The Gift Love and Other Drugs There are more titles of interest to us on Amazon, but our home library also has them now. We currently have enough 'stock' via Amazon to keep us entertained until we go home end of March. We record PBS offerings, but current series are available via Amazon too....See MoreMovie "Dare to be Wild" on Netflix
Comments (8)I’ve read her book but haven’t seen the movie. I was totally inspired. Upon finishing I immediately went online and ordered eight trees (they finally arrived this afternoon!) and started laying this fun path. There is a weeping cherry in the center, you can’t see it well yet: She did have a couple of minor annoyances, like her assumption that everyone lives in a mild, wet climate like she does, and Section 1 was a little slow for my taste, but overall it completely fired me up and changed the way I think about garden design, so I’d definitely recommend it....See More- 8 years ago
