opinions please - KA wall oven/MW or separate wall oven MW drawer
Comments (0)Hello all, Looking for opinions. I have a max 27" space for a wall oven and MW. I'm trying to decide on the integrated KA wall oven and combo MW verses a Sharp MW (maybe draw style) and a Bertazzoni (or similar) wall oven. The latter combo can be 24" saving me some extra space for pantry or counter space. I'm trying to keep the kitchen somewhat traditional looking so designs like the GE or Meile are just a bit too 'space aged' while the Bertazzoni has a nice retro look. The KA looks good and match nicely but are neither ultra modern nor retro. Any preferences or recommendations given the space and styling requirements? It took a little getting used to, but now I'm really happy with the choice. I know it sounds crazy, but I don't even have the details on the backsplash. While our entire house was torn up with remodeling, both my parents were taken quite ill. I have a friend that does tile work, and as he knew I was in way over my head at the time, he just kind of took care of it for me. He showed me his choices, and I went along with it. I've never regretted it. rkb21 - As I love to cook and bake a LOT, I spent a lot of time shopping and choosing appliances. I actually considered some of the higher end models, but after carefully comparing the features and price, I bought the KA. The micro/convection is fantastic. It heats to 350 degrees in less than 5 minutes. Crisps and bakes like a champ. LOVE the soften/melt mode and steam cook features on the microwave. The larger oven bakes 3 big pans of cookies at a time and they are all perfect. At Christmas time, I hosted a group of friends and we baked 125 dozen cookies in one day. They were amazed at what this baby could turn out. With the large window in the door, my family thinks is better than watching HD TV. Good luck with your choices!...See MoreHelp with dining room coloring/wall paper

Comments (10)We're doing wainscoting up about 5' on 8' walls. (This is to protect the walls. My kids are special needs and lets just say there have been previous incidents.) Wallpaper is going above the wainscoting. I had the same wallpaper in my bedroom from age 5 until I was... 19? At which point I pulled it down with the intent of painting, discovered that Dad had used paste on prepasted vinyl paper and that there was so MUCH paste that it was going to be a major issue to wash it off thoroughly for paint. I ended up hanging a different paper instead. Upside, a 19 year old learned how to hang wallpaper. :-) Useful life skill for someone who still likes wallpaper. And I, for one, like wallpaper and wainscoting together. DO give careful thought to the height of the wainscoting or beadboard. Usually either 1/3 the height of the wall or 2/3 the height of the wall look better than 1/2. So, if it were me, I'd to the beadboard all the way around and wallpaper above it....See Moresheriefreda
