Do re-bloomers really re-bloom?
Comments (7)I appreciate your responses. I guess I better try dividing my Stellas and Happy Returns, although some of them have been divided in the past because I wanted more plants--and I don't remember that they necessarily re-bloomed any better. Maybe they needed more water also. Would it help to divide them now? Or should I wait until early spring? I wouldn't mind also having a reddish or purplish daylily that re-bloomed well. Any suggestions? Kate...See MoreLate bloomers and long bloomers today
Comments (10)Thanks everyone. I find it's easier to appreciate the late daylilies when there is so little competition. I like them all. Marg and Jean,I think Alexis Sunny Pants just might be my favorite plant in the garden this year. It is such a fabulous performer. Eggplant Electricity has been a favorite for a few years. Mantis--Spacecoast Dragon Prince was new last August, but so far has been very impressive. I've always liked Elegant Finale--a very nice late bloomer. Purple Archittecture is fairly new and is putting on a show. Great branching on this one. Val...See MoreMy longest bloomer, an ffo, and some reblooms
Comments (14)Blazing Cannons fades some, but it is still very colorful by evening. It's not one of my favorite reds because it has an orange base. I prefer the blue reds like Insider Trading and Red Edition. It does have a good bud count though. Our high temp today was 97 with a heat index of 113. Here's how it looked at 7:30 p.m. It's in full sun all day. Nancy - Although we got quite a bit of rain the first week of July, most of the showers since then have gone north or east of us. Except for the red bed and the seedling bed which I water daily, the other beds are very dry and there's lots of bad foliage. Debra...See MoreAn ffo, some rebloomers and late bloomers
Comments (15)Like the Skater and Royal Jester pics. You seem to have a lot of rebloom this year. After thinking my season would never end last year due to rebloom, it has been rare to see rebloom scapes this year. Certainly not due to lack of rain as it has been plentiful (sorry for all of you that have not) and lilies seem to be putting energy into multiplying as they certainly are doing that!! Lots of nice photos in this post. Kate...See Moreceleste/NH
