Soap stain on bathroom counters

My husband bought some kind of orange pump soap and it stained both of my bathroom counters. It is a stained a yellow brown color. One counter was installed 4 years ago by the previous owner. The other is the original counter from 75. Both are some kind of man made stone looking counter. I just can't get it out. I have tried HP and baking soda, lemon, dawn, vineger, bleach, rust remover and over the counter cleaners. Still there. HELP

On one site they suggest a Magic Eraser. Try on a small spot to make sure it doesn't ruin the surface. Worth a try?

How long did you leave the baking soda and peroxide paste on the stain? I'd leave it for a good long time to give it a chance to actually bleach the stain. You can get a higher power peroxide at a beauty supply store...or ask for a few ounces from your hairdresser.

If that doesn't work, then I'd write to the soap manufacturer and ask them to replace my counter top.

50/50 alcohol/water. A spray on granite polish every now and then :) Just be sure the granite is well sealed (if it's one that needs to be sealed)...that's the most important issue. Monica

I think several people on this forum have used in counter soap dispensers. You can also purchase the commercial sensor based units. My complaints about the commercial units is that the spout is not very long and I feel like I am always hitting the back of the unit when I reach under them. I personally have a combination of wall mounted units, simple human sensor based units and a regular soap dispenser that sits on the counter. I think another reason these are not popular in bathrooms is the lack of styling around the sensor models and limited styles for the in counter models. Also, pedestal sinks are not always compatible with drilling multiple holes. Good luck!

I would replace both counters and sinks. The sinks do not match so even if you do (sort of) match the brown counter they will not look like they go together.

I left it on over night. Maybe I will look for a higher concentration of HP. Never thought about it coming in different strengths. Yep I did try the magic eraser. Who knows where my husband got the soap. He does the grocery shopping. I have been fighting this stain for about a year.

If a poultice doesn't work, maybe you could sand the stained area?
