Can I put light colored laminate next to medium-dark hardwood?
Comments (7)I have hardwood. It can really take a beating and is rather low maintenance. Like lindac says, you have to take care, wipe up spills immediately, etc, and yes, it will show dings if you drop a hammer on it. Will you have an area rug in the room? At 6 and 2 your kids would never be untended, and they should be learning the procedures for taking care of problems. In my house, we use bathtowels for spills as they can go directly into the washer. We once had a full gallon of milk burst on the floor and once had a pitcher of red kool-aid spill without any sign of damage. It took a LOT of bath towels to clean up those messes!!! I would lay the same flooring you have in the rest of the house, along with a rug. You will never get a good match with laminate....See MoreQuestion for Medium Brown Stained Hardwood Floor Owners
Comments (2)Clw, We have medium stained white oak hardwoods like in your second pic. Unfortunately we also have a white English Setter with long hair. Other than the hair, most debris is not noticeable on the floor. FYI: We also have heavy duty dirt rugs by every exterior door. ~bgj...See MoreMedium vs Light hardwood floor
Comments (47)@Sharmeen Aghaeian @Caroline Field Sure, pics are from various stages of remodeling/decorating (so maybe 18 months in between them), but really liking them so far. Seem like good quality and don't show dirt easily. Some scratches from my kids, but even those aren't too noticeable. Have not done any maintenance yet. We wanted something updated but not trendy and I like how these floors are neutral without being too light or dark....See MoreEngineered hardwood in a neutral medium brown, low to medium variation
Comments (9)" Ideally you buy a box and layout the whole box to get a look at variation of planks " That works well. However if you're real choosy you may not see the whole picture. That's why I try to get as many images of my products and not just one. I either send out pro photographers or actually get some good images from the happy buying customers. I wish all of them would take pictures. I even offer a $ 200 reward. However when the job is over 90% forget and move on to other projects in or outside the home. My room scene gallery has helped not only my buyers but myself as well in trying to understand or describe the variances that can be seen. Room Scene Gallery...See MoreRelated Professionals
