My neighbor hit my car. Suggestions?
Comments (13)Sorry I see things different than you but then I was only going by several post you wrote. I don't doubt you run in to racism, in fact I see racism happening too damn often. I just found it sad that you seem to blame any negitive (or what you perceive as negitive)action toward you on someone being racist. The Apt living forum is full of posts complaining about rude and nasty neighbors. When you live in Apts you have a good chance of sharing your living space with creeps, idiots or some form of low lifes. These type of people bother everyone around them. You seem to think you are picked out because of your race first and always. I am not saying it hasn't happened, I am sure it has. After reading so many of your posts screaming racism I started seeing a pattern. Then when you wrote in asking if you had made a big mistake bringing up that your husband traveled to Cuba often. You made it sound as if saying such a thing was a big NO NO, living here? As if the average person in the US would have a problem with that? I can tell you that the average American could care less where you or your family travels. You seem to be first to seperate yourself as being different with anyone you come in contact with and if things don't go smoothly your first reaction is to blame "race" Your race, their race. People have run in's with weirdo's everyday as they go through life and race has nothing to do with it. Believe me you don't have to be of another race to be treated wrong by others. I apologize if you felt I was being insenitve or doubting your negitive experiences with racism. I didn't mean to do that. I was trying to show you that you come off as a person who blames every situation that doesn't go your way on racism. To me you seem a bit racist yourself. Could that be true? Assumming your new landlord was going to treat you poorly because your husband travels to Cuba was a racist thing for you to think. You were the one being racist in this situation. Maybe not knowingly but you were. I am assume this woman was not the same race as you, right? Now would you have made such an accusation about her if she was the same race as you? I bet even if she was born and raised here in the US but your same race, you would have never worried about such a thing.Everybody has it in them to be racist and I believe everyone has been and everyone will be again sometime down the line. This why WE ALL need to work how we see the world and how we treat others. The only person we have control over is ourself. We all have the choice to reject or allow others hate to become instilled in our own hearts. I am sure it is much more easy for me to remember this than others because I am sure I don't have to deal with racism as much as many people. No matter how Easy or difficult one has , it is equally as important for all to remember. Peace...See MoreOh dear, I think my Lions Tail plants are dying.
Comments (11)I would leave them alone until there is no more possible threats of frost, so like in April maybe. Reason is that even thought that dying foliage is ugly, it will protect the rest of the plant and root from more damage in future frosts. It's only early January and we could have several more frosts until spring. If you cut it now, what's left could be damaged again, even maybe down to the roots. So I'd just leave it for now, and cut it back in April. But do water it if we don't get any rain for 2-3 weeks. A well watered plant handles frosts better than a dry one....See MoreOh...dear...God. Comments (27)Faron - I think I told you once that DH bought a 1964 1/2 Mustang convertible - black with red interior. He loved his baby - until our eldest son turned 16 - then he sold for something with safety features. That was in 1990 and we sold it in 1998. Then one day he went into the Chevy dealership to pick up my Suburban from the service department. Sitting in the showroom was a 2003 Anniversary Edition Corvette - he was smitten. I've never seen him so excited about a car before. Two days later he traded in his Tahoe and drove out in his shiny new Vette. We thoroughly enjoyed it- took several road trips, visited our son in Vermont in October with the roof down, the heater on and a heated blanket on my lap. Unfortunately 3 months later a driver ran a red light and hit him in the engine compartment and spun him around the intersection. Total loss. He was lucky he wasn't killed. That was his last toy. He now drives a really safe sedan. But this was his dream car - all 3 months of it. http://www.caranddriver.com/features/2003-chevrolet-corvette-50th-anniversary-special-edition-feature...See MoreOh god I hate my rear neighbors. Comments (101)Except that vapor smell can be intense too, in a different way. I don’t know enough to know how much of the vape smell I don’t notice, how much is pot, how much is tobacco or something else, but I definitely smell it from time to time, and I am pretty far away from homes (medium to large lots). So if you encourage it, you may be smelling it - it will just smell different and may not be as intense. And it’s not necessarily safer - you’d have to research that. I know I can smell it on the sidewalk as I walk in front of certain homes. The pot smoke is definitely worse than the pot vapor, but both are noticable. Some people don’t seem to care how much they put into the air. Or how frequently they produce the smoke or vapor. Just be careful what you encourage. The vapor might be better if it can be contained in his house or yard or garage. However I have more tolerance for tobacco cigarettes than for whatever vapor I smell sometimes. Probably because I worry about what’s in it. But also because the tobacco cigarettes don’t seem as strong as the vapor I smell. It could just be the way people are using it. I wonder if it could be the kinds of cigarettes he smokes too. Do some cigarettes produce more smoke than others?...See Morededtired
