My sons car was hit while parked - Need Advice
Comments (9)Very close to the exact same thing just happened to my Son in Nov 07....with the exception I made them write a report..Im with going to the police station and finding that officer, and/or his superior! In my case this man showed false ins info, had no valid liscense, was definetely 'on' something..he did get several tickets, but always get a police report, make them do it....even if the other driver doesn't get a ticket..at least there is a report... Come to find out this man had no insurance, so On my son's car I only had liability and uninsured...my ins. is going after the other ins. and the individual who hit his car...it totaled my sons car (ford focus) and only cracked this mans blinker (a huge duelly (sp?) truck. Oh and he left the scene, my neighbor jumped in his truck and followed him..and made him come back to the scene....he did not get a hit and run because the man returned to the scene within 15 minutes..sooo if this ever happens sit outside the mans house for 15 minutes and then make him come back to the scene...he WOULD NOT have come back had my neighbor not made him..he was already pulling into his garage! My ins. did pay! and this man actually moved out of the neighborhood about 2 wks after the accident, oh he also totaled our mailbox..shoved my sons car over the mailbox...my ins. paid for this also! Make the police write up a report....if its not too late..and take lots and lots of pictures! I actually took a picture of my sons car and his truck and liscense plate that very nite... Good Luck! Comments (3)I agree ... simple proximity. You'll create more maintenance by dividing the properties with planting and mulch. Plain old mowing will be easier. It's a common problem -- being unhappy with the neighbor's yard upkeep -- but if you can't divide with a solid fence, then the best thing is to take care of your own property and hope the neighbor sells sooner rather than later. Just mow up to the line and ignore beyond. Weed seeds, insects and disease are blowing and walking around everywhere and there's nothing you can do about it. Treat your own space and make it look as good as you can. Sometimes, the neighbor will be motivated by guilt (but this is usually slow and late) when their property looks so bad compared to that next door....See MoreCan my neighbors cut their Arborvitae on my property against my will
Comments (16)There is no use in doing anything until the OA can establish for sure where the property line is. You are calling people 'psychos' that may be entirely within their rights by pruning trees on their own property. They definitely aren't, in my book, someone you can call 'good neighbors' but then how you approach someone can dictate how they respond to you. Get get all the facts first, then you approach them with confidence and explain why you are contesting their actions....See MoreTrying to help someone who hit my car
Comments (2)Hi folks, I want to inform you of how things ended with my fender that was hit by an honest person who left a note in my car with her phone number. After getting estimates of $1500 or more from two auto body shops, I decided to try the guy who installed a sideview mirror for me which I bought on eBay, after the original one was hit by someone who did not have the decency to leave me a note. This auto body mechanic said that he could repair the existing fender for $450.00. In other words, I did not have to order a new one. I informed the woman who hit my car and she had no problem with the estimate. The fender got fixed yesterday. I'm really glad that I did not have to go through the woman's insurance and that it was a much lower cost for her. This was my way of saying thanks for being honest by leaving me a note, admitting that she hit me, rather than just fleeing since I was not around when it happened. I had simply parked my car on a street near my home (I do not have a driveway). I'm attaching before and after photos below....See Moreasm198 - Zone 6a (MO)
