Bandwidth Bandit??? Posting photos and links to photos
Comments (3)This has to do with pictures that belong to other people and websites where people are paying for the bandwidth that they use. Like cell-phone minutes, sort of. If, for example, you go to my website and see an orchid picture you want to use on your website. There are two things you can do. First option is to simply copy it to your website. If you don't have permission, that is simple theft of intellectual property but is not an actual out-of-pocket expense for me. Second, you can put the full URL of the picture in you web page. That is not only theft of the picture, but doing it costs me money, because every time it is loaded by anybody in the world, it uses my bandwidth. Insult to injury, so to speak. FYI, on Snapfish using Firefox, if you put the cursor over the picture, right mouse click and select "Copy image location" you will get the full URL. Paste that in the browser and you will see the picture. Snapfish probably wants people to see the photos on their page not included in other web pages. I see their point since they are selling a service. It may be your picture, but it is their bandwidth. BTW, I am incredibly easy with giving permission for my pictures if they are copied and I am given credit as photographer. Ask, tho, non-commercial purposes only especially not eBay. ;-> Back to posting pictures. If you have your own pictures on your own website, then add links all you want. Use a photo editor to reduce the size. I do many of my pictures 432px (6 inches) wide with a quality level of 4 (the low end of medium)....See MoreLittle Blue Bandit
Comments (2)mermaid, I know you from DG (JMP24) Your photo's are so beautiful! I paint and draw but fall very short with digital photography - I took my brothers old camera when he got a new one, but there was no directions or brochure on how to use it. I love the instant gratification of digital photos, but my closeups are lousy. I can get great pics with my Canon Rebel 35mm, but then you have to do all that 'old fashioned" stuff, like drop the film off at the lab, wait for it to be developed, and even PAY for pics you don't like!!!...See MoreYogi, Bambi, Bandit, and....
Comments (12)Ox, Never been married, have no plans to be. That way all the figs I grow are MINE! :-) Years ago my brother made a noose at the end of a long pole for just such occasions. It's fashioned after the ones used by the SPCA to catch dogs. Looped it around her neck, tightened it, picked her up and put her in the can. That's how I knew she was a good 3 feet long. Then I went in and had a drink, heck with the meteor shower! Cecil, Vern, I've had rattlesnake and it is good. It's the other, other white meat! ;-) Cecil, love the little baby deer, so cute!! I agree with plantlover, I'm in their territory and I respect their right to life. That's why I need to relocate her. They are territorial and I don't want a bunch of them around. This is only the third rattler I've seen here in 8 years. I'd like to keep it that way. Well I'm off to relocate her and get to work... Sue...See MoreAnyone ever use Bubble Bandit Laundry Detergent
Comments (15)I've been using Bubble Bandit dishwasher detergent for several years now and here is my experience. I have an older dishwasher like MammaP. Mine is a 15 year old GE EI (Energy Inefficient) dishwasher. It is loud, uses a boatload of water, and cleans like a SOB. We have moderately hard water here so I always use a rinse agent like Jet Dry. I never put any of my metal pots and pans in the dishwasher. Those get handwashed. But everything else goes in-- dishes, glasses, cups, bowls, silverware, cooking utensils, mixing bowls, etc. I use the normal cycle with the sani option that heats the water. Everything comes out clean and shiny. All the dishes are shiny and the glasses are crystal clear with no cloudy residue. If I have a particularly dirty load with dried, baked on or burned residue that needs enzymes, I will put the Bubble Bandit in the prewash cup and a Cascade complete tab in the main wash cup for the enzymes. This is just my experience and I have been happy with the results....See MoreUser
