I think if he justs goes to the room of his choice and tries to respond to a post a message will come up to either sign in or new user..hit the new user and follow the prompts.

I think if he just goes to Houzz, not thru Google or FB, he'll be prompted to sign up and he'll just need a user name and password he creates for Houzz.

If you will be using the same computer just be sure to sign in to your account and out of your account then he will have to sign into his account and out of his account. Otherwise you will end up with his comments on your account and name. To sign out of your account go to your houzz icon and click on it, choose sign out. Write down all pertinent information like user name and password so it's not forgotten or confused. I have a small notebook with my information for each place I have accounts and registration. It is kept safe and secure.

But....can two different people with their own username and own password sign up using the same email address. We have tried this elsewhere and it would tell us someone else is using that email address. This has always been confusing to me....I just don't see through it. I am sure it is pilot error on my part somewhere. Glad this come up.

You can create an email address very easily at gmail and he can sign in using his own email that way if he doesn't have one already.

When you go to the log in or sign in page, down at the bottom it says: Don't have an account yet? Join Now>. Just click there. It offers you the chance to use your established account with facebook or google, but you don't have to. If he doesn't choose to he can just type in the email and password he wants to use and hit enter.

Shirl, no the same email can't be used twice because that's the unique identifyer for your account. You can change your password and even your name all you want because those are filed under that email address.

Each must have a unique email address can't be used for more than one person. Gmail or Hotmail are free and easy to use.

Lindsey- I can't speak for others but we have a family google account and our own personal ones.

Hubby created it so we have a shared calendar. If I want to put something on the calendar on my phone, say one of the kids doctors appointments, I make sure it is under the family email address so he will see it on his phone as well.

We primarily use the calendar but we do also use the email address at the kids pediatrician, the school, VRBO for family trips, etc.

It definitely has it's uses but I would never have it as my sole email.

I think a Google calendar can be created under any one user's account to be an explicitly group calendar, as for a family, without having a "group" email address. If no one uses the email address, then it doesn't really act as a shared address, unless I'm missing something. Maybe the result is the same and the detail doesn't matter.

In the general context, sharing an email address (I do have a few friends that do) is, to me, like sharing a piece of gum. It can be done if desired and some do, but why oh why?
