Dining room decor help part 2
Comments (33)FingNugSnug- the dining room furniture was bought as a set about about 7 years ago. I do have different styles going in that room because I am trying to phase out the Tuscan style pieces. I am hoping to try and keep the buffet and table as I have seen similar pieces put with more streamlined chairs and decor and it seems to work. I guess I tend to like a eclectic look. Mmmbeeer- I didn't find it offensive at all! I appreciate your honesty. What are your feeling about my current table and buffet with new chairs? Do you think that will do the trick? My table is hard to see in the picture but much more streamlined than the chairs. Basically a trestle done in a dark finish. Majority of people seemed to not like the chairs with the rings on the back so maybe they are too fadish. Thoughts on that or another style of chair that might stand the test of time or at least 10 years or so. Lol!...See MoreDining Room decorating help
Comments (0)I have "ivory" chairs (seem more of a cream to me now) in my dining room with a medium gray wall, white chair rail and trim and black table. I think because of the white trim and rail, the chairs seem more "yellow" to me. Any suggestions? I have been looking for an area rug that has the darker ivory, white and gray or was thinking of staining the leather (not sure if this is possible), or repainting? Any suggestions much appreciated!!!!!...See MoreOpen concept dining room decor HELP!
Comments (15)I would add a narrow console table something like this under the windows. Both are 12" deep or less so they will take up very little floor space: http://www.kirklands.com/product/Furniture/Living-Room-Furniture/Console-Tables/Tiffany-Weathered-Console-Table/pc/2285/c/3058/sc/2610/221804.uts http://www.kirklands.com/product/Furniture/Living-Room-Furniture/Console-Tables/Light-Cherry-Scroll-2-Door-Console-Table/productVariantId/212037/pc/2285/c/3058/sc/2610/221803.uts...See MoreDining room decorating help?
Comments (10)Are you set on painting it? It’s really pretty as is. To me, it’s the rug throwing things off. I think the color/pattern is too loud and heavy-looking in this particular room. I think a more calm, muted rug, that has similar browns as the china cabinet, really connects it all better, draws the eye up instead of down. It’d be a much easier change. :) (The mirrors are great and that wall doesn’t need chairs or anything else crowding it.) For example: https://incrediblerugsanddecor.com/products/loloi-anastasia-af-07-sand-lt-blue-area-rug?variant=19679270662 Love it with that wall color, too: ~~~~ I’d change the rug, put a lamp on the bar cabinet, get a decorative tray for the bottles, pull colors or one color from the rug for curtains (or just solid cream), and that’s it....See MoreCelery.
