please suggest source for tart cherry - experience please
Comments (3)I have Monty on Mazzard and its been fine. That said I also have three cherries on Gisela 5 and they are all doing fine eight years later. I have found all cherries pretty easy to grow; maybe I have just been lucky. Cracking fruit on the sweets has been the main problem, and bacterial cankers have occasionally required major prune jobs. I just lost a Bing graft a few weeks ago to canker, my first variety lost to canker....See MoreToiletry Storage - an epiphany!
Comments (27)Here, I thought Talley was just a great housekeeper and had a germ-less bathroom. LOL. I like vanity cabinets and I really like being able to store a couple of dozen rolls of TP right where I need it. We have the original tub and toilets in pink and peachish beige, but someone took out the sinks :( I just put in non-descript oak cabinets which I'm painting for now. When I find the pink sink I can afford to ship up here, I'll either rip out that cabinet or just change the top to have boomerang laminte put in. I don't really care for over the toilet storage. It just always feels so crowded next to the tub with our bathroom set-ups. Our saving factor is that we have three full bathrooms for 6 people. The DH uses the one on the bedroom floor and my two older boys share one. That leave me to share one with the two little kids and since it's on our main living floor I keep it in the best shape anyway. I don't use the other two, so keeping them clean isn't my job. Comments (31)I suggest Comtesse Emmeline de Guigne: I saw it growing at Morcom Park in Oakland, California and it was a gorgeous pink Tea with starry blossoms with a satiny sheen. Sometimes it shows salmon in the inner petals along with the pink. I admired it everytime I went there that summer. The next spring I was surprised to see it had been moved, although its replacement was a very pretty pure peach colored Tea rose, I should have looked closer at the foliage et cet. I read Gregs description of Comtesse Emmemline de Guigne in the Vintage Gardens Book of Roses and he described how it changes from pink to peach depending on conditions, so it had been there all the time masquerading under a different color. At Morcom Parks Amphitheatre of Roses they keep it at c. 4 feet tall by slightly wider, and it seems perfectly happy. Rogue Valley sells it. For years I was underwhelmed by my Duchess de Brabant, I thought it was a bit plain, until my neighbor said look how many roses there are on that plant! It gave me a new appreciation for it. . Mrs. Dudley Cross is sublime, and those smooth stems are a relief to me as I walk down my sidewalk as I tend to get caught on nearly every rosebush I pass by. By the way Souvenir de la Malmaison is fully half a Tea rose by parentage, which is why it re-blooms so rapidly and is florifeorus. Mlle. Cecille Brunner is classed as a Polyantha, yet is fully half a Tea by breeding. Her flowers are pink, petite and perfectly Tea shaped, and the scent is divine. Pretty foliage too. Mine has stayed at c. 4 feet tall for years. Good luck, let us know what you choose. Lux....See MoreSuggestions please!!!Chandelier Light for my breakfast area
Comments (5)Since you’re considering both linear and round fixtures, I’d focus less on matching a specific style and more on what you want the light to do visually. A linear fixture would emphasize the length of the table and feel cleaner, while a more sculptural round fixture could become a stronger focal point in the room. I recently put together a video showing 8 very different designer pendant lights actually placed in interiors. The shapes are quite different from one another, so it might be useful for seeing which direction feels right in a space like yours: https://youtu.be/nKEcEzpYHhk...See More- 9 years ago
