Comments (8)I have probably posted this before. That is my daughter, taken a couple years before this Kinzua Railroad bridge was hit by a tornado in 2003. The bridge has been part of a PA state park since 1963. This past week the remaining part of the bridge was reopened with a walkway out over the gorge with a glass bottomed viewing area. Hope to see it this fall. The bridge before the tornado. This was late fall. Fall color here is normally the best in late Sept. Worth a trip. After the tornado. Yesterday as a small rain shower passed through I realized there ought to be a rainbow somewhere because the sun was still shining brightly.
I looked out into the backyard and saw the end of the rainbow reaching the ground right over our septic field.
9 years agoStadium seating in Pompeii, Italy, an area that had been uncovered from the ancient volcano eruption. The seat numbers are etched into the stone. 2nd photo is the interior of a structure that had been excavated. Our tour guide told us that a huge area of Pompeii has still not been exposed.
