It's OK to use a few Andersen 200 series windows but I would try to get at least the 400 series Tilt Wash for the rest of the house. I don't know where you live but in a cold climate you need 2x6 studs just to meet the energy code. If you dropped the entire porch roof structure another 4" from what I originally recommended and the bottom of the truss overhang is high enough for the trim boards everything should work. The only way to know is to draw a wall section very carefully. I could do that if I knew the truss support and roof eave detail. Trusses save money and many houses discussed on this forum have used them but I have never used them nor have I seen them used for a single-family house; it's a multi-family developer technique in the northeast perhaps because attic space is of such great value.

can you please help with this. we decided the best thing to do is hook into the main HVAC for the living areas, Remove the bedroom HVAC all together. then replace the main HVAC unit with a state of the art 3 stage system (he uses american standard) Here is my question. Today in Florida it is 49 degrees! freezing for here. humidity in the house is like 20% but for some reason in my bedroom its like 60% (no ac running cuz its cold) Same floor, same type doors and windows, adjacent to living space, My room always feels damp. smells like mildew. Two mold companies have come and tested with meters to look for moisture in the floor or behind the walls and found none. I am convinced there is some sort of dampness present in this room (no carpets or drapes ) only tile, wood furniture. not much clutter, closets have been emptied into another room in prep for remediation, new roof, ducts have been cleaned, attic crawl space has been checked. HVAC unit is not dripping or clogged(that i can see, was just serviced and uv light added) the HVAC plenum is dry (although there is mold on the drywall in there) waiting for remdeation. My question is where else can i look for a moisture source? does mildew (smelling like damp towels that have sat for a while) have to mean there is a sitting water source somewhere? any other ideas. isnt it logical that if its a freezing day here i shouldnt need AC to draw humidity out of my room today?!

Thanks jck910 and Patricia for the feedback. I should provide a more complete picture. The window below the master bedroom is going to be reduced in height to 72"x40" since the kitchen will be moved there and the sink/countertop will now be under it. There are 2 patio doors at the back at that level and on the 2nd floor, there is another bedroom with the same window. We would change windows in both BRs to match. In the BRs these are the only windows and we don't plan to have any furniture along that wall. I've included portions of the main level floorplan and for the 2nd level with the bedrooms. @decoenthusiaste Thanks so much for your input, I am leaning on agreeing with you at this point as I really don't want the room to appear any smaller than it is. @Cheryl Smith You are correct, the entry door is opposite the knee-wall door, but that run of wall before the dormer is not long enough for the bed, night stands and to still have access to the closet. After a lot of thought, the bed fits best and makes the most sense against the far wall with the window. @njmomma Thanks so much for the pictures, I had never thought about a blue door previously, but I kind of really like it!
