Comments (15)Hi Linda, I don't buy from stubhub but my coworker does, as well as ebay. She usually does that for sporting events since we both get all the emails when the concerts go on sale. I'll ask her if they are preselling. What I have read in my research is that they do in deed presale. Your question did send me on a mission because I didn't have the answer. Van Halen has no website to speak of and Live Nation and Ticket Master only list VIP packages for both our venues. They annouced the dates just recently and under my date of 04/10 it says TBD. Ticket master will list the shows once they have a date that the tickets will be in sale. It appears that they are releasing some VIP packages right now that will ship in April BUT Stub Hub shows specfic seats for each venue. It does not state when you would get you tickets so I clicked through the buy process a bit to see if there was a warning, but nothing obvious. To compare I clicked on NY which I know is on sale, and the stubhub website site shows as bold as can be "Electronic Delivery Available Immediately". Based on this, I still think I am right and they are not on sale yet. If you set up an account with ticketmaster, I bet you can score $49 seats when they are released. I'll check with my friend on Tues and I will let you know when they go on sale in FL....See MoreCher Concert anyone?
Comments (15)I would go in a heartbeat!!!! She is an icon!! Not that I am a big fan, I would still go. Yes ticket prices are out of whack, but make it a joint Christmas present. A couple of years ago Jeff Dunham( the ventriloquist) came to Jacksonville and we talked about it as a family (we all LOVE him) & decided that it would be a family Christmas present even though he wasn't coming until the end of January, so everyone got a ticket in their stocking, which I took back for safe keeping and we all had a blast & laughed til we cried. It was a good Christmas present. I have hinted & hinted that I would love to go see ALABAMA in concert, but doubt I get to go because it is the weekend before Thanksgiving & we are going to Brunswick, GA to spend Tday with Sam. Which is more important to me.....See MoreTickets? No Tickets?
Comments (8)The problem, as I see it, is that reunions can be a pretty pricey fee, and people who use to all live in the same place are now coming in from all over. I've done fundraisers where we might have one or two "But I paids!", but they're local and since the costs are low, we can just comp them on their word and straighten it out later. Here's an idea: Get a free email account from Gmail or Yahoo in the name of the reunion. When you receive a payment, enter it in your spread sheet, and send a confirmation e-mail to the payer, including names of attendees (or "2 guests" if you don't know) and amount paid. If they don't have e-mail, send it to the Reunion's e-mail (i.e., self) with the payers name on the subject line and mail a printout of it by post. For last minute payments, do the same thing but keep the printouts and hand them to the people as they arrive. If you save a couple of template e-mails, you can just plug in the names, amounts and e-mail address and send it off, so it shouldn't take any more work than mailing a paper ticket would. On the invitation, tell people that their confirmation e-mail is their ticket/proof of payment. This way you have a double check that can't be accidentally written over for what came in, you can look up if you sent the e-mail, and they can show you a print out, or the e-mail on their phone. That said, one of the emotionally worst things I've ever had to do was stand at the door of a paid event with a caterer, where the caterer demanded an exact headcount, and tell someone who was a member of the organization, but who hadn't paid, that she couldn't come in. So that's another piece of advice: Plan a few extra meals, etc., so you can comp someone rather than turn them away hungry....See More- 9 years ago
