Cher Concert anyone?

Tickets are on sale now here and I "think" I would like to go. I hear she puts on a great concert but the tickets are about 127.00 unless you get in the nose bleed section. Of course hubs would have to go too, so that would be close to 300.00 by the time you add in fees and such. I just think she may never come back here again and I will miss the chance to see her. Would you just say the heck with it and go?

I saw her in concert years ago. Marvelous show.
Only $127? Worth every penny.

Yes !!! It is a great show.. Today most concert tickets are 100.00 or more..

Saw Skynyrd and Paul Rodgers last week. Excellent concert. (Have seen Skynyrd a few times now.) Highly recommend Paul Rodgers - still sounds the same. Saw Grand Funk last month (and last year). They sound great. Planning to see them again Sept. 1. Dave Mason is coming sometime somewhere around here. Will probably see him again. All these old-timers still sound great. Don't know how they did it. All that hard living they did when they were young.

Yes, it went very well. This was the largest endeavor I have sponsored through my flute circle, and it was well received, in spite of rainy weather, which Dallasites hate. Austin is the center of the music universe in TX, so we will take any opportunities we can get, even if we have to make our own, for a good concert.

Virginia, check out Dying Day, What Can I Say, Pride & Joy, Late Morning Lullaby, Turpentine, Before It Breaks, Dreams, Touching the Ground.....the list goes on! LOL I have two of her CD's and there is not a single song on either of them that I don't like. So glad there is at least one Brandi Carlile fan on the forum! LOL Linda

I cannot imagine paying that for an evenings entertainment. I saw her years ago too, she is beyond excellent. I have never regretted the money. At the time we were celebrating our anniversary. It cost of $70 for the two tickets. We were in the nose bleed section, I was VERY pregnant and it was tricky climbing the steep steps. Well worth it!! My son is 22. Concert ticket prices are out of wack IMHO!! Today I would wait for the PBS concert special and enjoy her from my recliner.

If you can afford it do it, it's a once in a lifetime event, and it will make you happy. Those things are worth a little extra.

Yes, you should go. Get the tix before they sell out. She'll be fantastic! If the money hurts, skimp somewhere else.

I'm not a Cher fan, but I'd pay that to see an artist I really wanted to see, especially if it was a really rare opportunity.

You guys are gonna think I'm so cheap--and maybe I am, but it's a blessing at this point in my life. Last year a friend took me to a Willie Nelson concert for my birthday. When we got there and I found out the tickets cost $187 apiece, it practically ruined the evening for me--although of course I didn't let on.

You could say maybe I don't like Willie Nelson enough. That's true, but when I think of performers I like more, no performance is worth $187 to me.

However, we all have our own priorities about how we spend money, and if you think it could be worth it to you to spend close to $300 on the concert, it probably will be.

WoW....I must be way out of touch.

I'd never spend $300 for a night's entertainment. But then, I wouldn't spend that much on a pair of shoes, or a purse or sheets or any number of things.

But, if it is within your means, go for it I guess....I just couldn't imagine doing it myself.

I love Cher, and think that $127 is worth it. That is the going rate, for sure of top entertainers.

A friend of ours saw Bon Jovi this weekend and he paid $180.

I wouldn't pay $127. to go see Cher because I really don't care for her music that much. I like James Taylor and several years ago he was about 1 1/2 hours away but the tickets were $75. and at that time it was a lot of money for us. If he came around today I would give maybe $100 to $125. and go see him.

I would go in a heartbeat!!!! She is an icon!! Not that I am a big fan, I would still go. Yes ticket prices are out of whack, but make it a joint Christmas present. A couple of years ago Jeff Dunham( the ventriloquist) came to Jacksonville and we talked about it as a family (we all LOVE him) & decided that it would be a family Christmas present even though he wasn't coming until the end of January, so everyone got a ticket in their stocking, which I took back for safe keeping and we all had a blast & laughed til we cried. It was a good Christmas present.

I have hinted & hinted that I would love to go see ALABAMA in concert, but doubt I get to go because it is the weekend before Thanksgiving & we are going to Brunswick, GA to spend Tday with Sam. Which is more important to me..

Used to like her. Her ridiculous tweets and politics turned me off completely. I wouldn't walk across the street to see her in person, and won't watch her on tv.

We saw her years ago at the Hollywood Bowl~~she was fabulous~~I am sure the tics were cheaper, but I would pay 127 too see her again! She so amazed me at her costume change for every song. You have to love the artist to pay $$$, if you do not then I would not do it.
