Granite, Beautiful now help me pick one....
Comments (34)ChloeSmom, WHAT I have to choose and edge now? :) my DH loves the half bullnose. What do you think? What do you recommend? Oh dear, I am going to loose sleep over this one now. You always have good ideas. I need something simple for my cottage kitchen. The 1/2 bullnose seems simple and strong. Remodelfla, Yes it is a Bosch. I have all new Bosch appliances. Electrolux seems really nice too. My DH loves German engineering from cars to toys. I did a lot of research. on Epinions. Great deal at Lowes. The Frige is the Integra 800. Super wonderful. Quiet and far larger than I ever expected. I used to have a JennAir Superba and that was a monster but held everything. This Bosch is much nicer. I am truly impressed by it. The Bosch range.. Well it is a little louder than I planned. I thought it would be as quiet as the dw. The cooktop area is quiet but the oven has a convection fan that tends to make it a little louder. Not terrible but silent. Although the warming drawer is awesome. I used to have a horrible GE cooktop and two super double ovens that took too much space. This range replaced all three. I like the space I have now. Or I will like it when I am done. Jan_jan, My LeadAD??? I wish I were a leader. I am a follower. If it were not for all the super ideas on this GW I would be lost. Truly thanks for all your ideas. Thanks all, ~Boxerpups...See MorePicking granite for white cabinets
Comments (2)I have the same situation and just posted my first Q about it, in fact (wood floor over slate dilemma). In my case, not only is there the potential issue of different woods, but, in addition, I can't lay wood on my stone floor without creating a two inch step up to my dining room - unless I do a very costly demolition job on the stone. Anyway, my idea for cabinet color and granite is very similar to yours. In addition to the creamy cabinets, I'm also considering a darker cherry stained island (not 100% sure of this yet). However, if wood floors are a no go, I am thinking about doing the giallo veneziano, santa cecelia or something similar, on both the perimeter and the island. I think that would pull everything (both cabinets and floors) together and makes for a very nice tone on tone look. I saw a couple of similar kltchens in a magazine recently that I'm using for inspiration ( the most frustrating thing about those magazines, though, is when you have a photo of a gorgeous granite and the description reads "granite" rather than revealing which one - don't you hate that?). Anyway, the photos showed the floor tiles in medium beige, not too light or too dark. Cabinets were to the ceiling, so really very little dry wall was exposed, but what there was was done either in a bone (the darker cream cabinets with brown glaze) or taupe (the lighter cream) color, so both continued on with the tone on tone theme, here. Backsplashes were very close to the color of the cabinets in both cases, with or without accents (mosaic tile for ex.) under the hood. Hope this helps - it sounds like we are headed in similar directions....See MoreHelp me pick kitchen cabinet color
Comments (4)take the plastic off a corner of the cabinet ….looks as though current cabinet with a light stain or clear finish to floor would work and be less hassle. I have used the clear satin coating on wood floors-it does give a little definition and enhances, with the several coats, so the floor boards will be a little richer....See Morepicking granite for white cabinets
Comments (7)shadow storm is a marble and will require babying. if you're up for that, fine. just be aware. I like the very last pic and your very first one. (don't worry about the black stripes, they can cut around it.. although I like it) The others you have in the middle are blah and entry grade (Kashmir and the one below it. do not get either of those) omicron silver is OK. it's a warmer gray tone. if you have other stone yards, go look at those. you'll find different slabs and other places. this is leathered Princess White both of these are River White (I think it's also called White Ice) Taj Majal quartzite i believe this one is Alaska White or one of the others you picked ditto this one...See Morealley2007
