withoutanh... If the date of your first service call to complain was within warranty, they have to continue to work on that issue until resolved, even past that warranty period. It's their fault the problem continued because their attempts and explanations did not resolve the problem. I think you should ask to speak to a supervisor at the store, and at GE customer service. Report the problem to the Better Business Bureau and renew your comments that it was defective upon delivery and their failure to cure the problem when reported is the only reason the problem continues to be reported after the warranty. So many companies try to shirk their legal responsibilities with this type of behavior and you shouldn't give up as they hope you do. Posting seems the only way to get satisfaction but that shouldn't be the only option. Try, try again! You are making me reconsider a choice of GE appliances, so thanks for posting.

Many of the wall ovens vent to the front so I don't think a wall oven is a problem. There does seem to be some variance in how much heat is released and may be due to how well they are insulated. I have had two brands in my wall space in the last several years. The Electrolux that I have now does not put as much heat into the kitchen. With a range, a gas oven vents much more heat than the electric ovens do. 2. I have read about the porcelain chipping in the wall ovens. Is that true for 2013? If you search on this forum you will find that this is an ongoing problem. It is hard to tell how wide spead these issues are. In my area(small market), Wolf has replaced other liners to ranges but you don't read about it that much online with the ranges. The wall ovens in the future from Wolf will have a replaceable bottom and you would want to make sure you get that if you choose a Wolf oven. The range will not have that. I have the Wolf DF range and the porcelain has failed a little after four years. They cannot give a fixed estimate for a repair and just the labor starts at $800. They will only warranty the new liner for one year. It would seem that since this has been an issue, they would do better than that. I don't think the blue chips are fixed but they are making it easier to repair. It is a shame because there is no other range with an oven like that. I'm thinking 36" Dual Range OR 36" Cooktop Double Wall Range Those packages come out to roughly the same price. Trying to make the numbers work!! I would go for the components. You can pick exactly what you like and if one goes, it can be replaced. I have a very expensive storage cabinet at present. It is not safe to have food cooking with glass shards flying around. Appreciate any advice. I've looked at every brand and keep coming back to Subzero and Wolf . If you want Wolf range, I would go for the all gas because the enamel is not blue. I would buy the longest extended warranty you can get if you buy something with a lot of electronics or any type of blue porcelain. I have had blue enamel failure with Dacor, Electrolux and Wolf, all in different ways. Dacor was bought back for multiple issues, Electrolux was fixed under extended warranty and Wolf I am out. The dealer told me Wolf would stand behind their product and I would not need an extended warranty. This was true because they have replaced double ovens 4 years old with new ones for $500 for someone on this forum. They don't do that anymore. I was a big fan of Wolf until this happened. One reason I bought that range was the supposed "peace of mind"---HA!

I have a Bosch dual fuel range (slide in) that is about 1" away from the wall/backsplash. I have never noticed it sticking out until I read this and then went to look, lol. It does, but if I've never noticed it, it doesn't bother me. The range itself is about 2 1/2" out from the base cabinetry. But I know what you mean if you want the 24" deep Thermador look. Personally, I would invest in an integrated refrigerator, using money saved from the Thermador and/or GE. The refrigerator is a much larger appliance and it's "sticking out" is more obvious than the counter height range. ("Counter depth" refrigerators also stick out; only fully integrated are flush.) I have 18" between the range and the next full height bank of cabinetry which includes a flush Thermador microwave/convection oven. The cabinetry sticks out 1" from the countertop and 2" from the 18" base cabinet farther than it should, a custom construction error I don't want to talk about. But that would be about the same as the space between your refrigerator and range if both "stick out." That 18" is good enough for my small Keurig and that's about it. It also has wall cabinetry above it because I used a hidden Zephry Pisa undercabinet range hood, so I don't have the "open" look you'll get from your range hood. That 18" of usable space is the same, however. We don't cook much at all (I hate it). I've had a Thermador dual fuel range and now this Bosch. Years ago, when I did have to cook, I had GE Monogram wall ovens and glass cooktop. Other than much preferring the gas, I can't think of major differences between all of them, or being unhappy with any of them.

I concur with boschboy! I have Thermador double wall ovens and have used both ovens for many years. The advantage of a French door (for a top oven) is in insering/removing very heavy (cast iron Le Creuset 9.5 quart) cookware from the upper oven's middle shelf. Those who are shorter will appreciate being able to get closer to the upper racks when inserting/removing items rather than stretching across the open oven door. I use my double wall ovens to bake six pans of cookies/pastries/pies simultaneously, or to make a large roast in one and many side dishes/desserts in the second wall oven. I bake breads, frequently, and in addition to the double wall ovens, regularly use the warming drawer to proof breads/keep plated meals at the correct temperature, etc. I have experienced back problems and would never have a range, requiring me to bend that far when baking/cooking. I also prefer have electric wall ovens and my gas cooktop.
