Using a glass roll up door as a patio door. Anyone had any experience?
Comments (10)I think everyone's correct in that a glass garage door won't provide the insulation needed. We're building in Knoxville, and are putting a Clopay glass roll up garage door in our pool house. It'll be nice to open up during the summer to overlook the pool, and not a big deal in the winter when the pool house isn't in use. For our home, we're going with the multi-glass sliders to connect the living room to the back deck. Yes, it's a ton more expensive, but necessary to keep the home comfortable In all seasons....See MoreFolding patio doors vs Sliding Patio Doors
Comments (3)They both have pros and cons and neither is really the "best". Budget, sizing, how you intend to use it and what you want out of the door opening all factor in to the decision. Budget and brand do as well as a cheaper folding door will be more like to have issues than a cheap sliding door....See MoreShould internal doors be the same height as terrasse/patio doors?
Comments (3)Hey there, wanted to clarify, you have already chosen the doors? What was the result? Glass doors definitely let in more light, which is an undeniable advantage for rooms on the first floor. But if you make the doors taller, equal to the height of the terrace doors, the first floor would look like a public dining room. Why should it be equal to the terrace door? I would install victorian doors - they are as high, and can let in a lot of light even when closed, there are models with glass. But they look nice and sophisticated, but bulky. They don't resemble street doors and squares, but the black metal ones are too big even though they are glass....See MoreCrittall style internal doors - different height to patio doors
Comments (2)IMO I would do a different style from the same makers like maybe one bar to line up with one bar form the patio door but really patio doors do not need to amtch inter doors at all. Do you want all glass doors and where do those doors lead . I am wondering why a door there at all so maybe share where that doorway leads Just for my own info what is that ceiling material?...See More- 9 years agolast modified: 9 years ago
