Need advice re shower curtain rod -- type, placement, source, et
Comments (11)Bear in mind that online reviews usually number a handful, so it's hard to determine quality based on reviews. Faucetdirect.com has lots of rods. Brass rods are the most expensive. I bought stainless steel. The Kohler rods would have been my first choice, but my shower is 58", and theirs and many others start at 60". I had to buy Moen and it does look nice. We have good ventilation so I don't think rust will be a problem. Location: Once you have the rod and shower curtain, you'll figure it out pretty quickly. Most shower curtains are 70-72" long. Leaking: Curved rods won't prevent it. I bought a shower curtain liner at BB&B that has suction cups along the sides. Shower curtains: JC Penney, Macy's, Kohl's, BB&B, Pottery Barn, Croscill.com, Overstock.com, etc. I've looked at hundreds and haven't found what I'm looking for. Most look pretty chintzy imo....See MoreLooking for good source for hotel style shower curtain

Comments (3)Rods come with extenders so the width won't be a big issue. Stores like JCP, Bed Bath & Beyond or even Lowe's have those. I got mine at Lowe's, the prices were really affordable and the selection had what I was looking for. Grommet shears are a pretty common staple at the stores, but if you want billowy with a little weight to them I'd go with Pottery Barn's, though pricy, their grommet shears are really pretty. I would also check Ikea, they are budget friendly and usually have something like a long shear in stock at affordable prices....See MoreBoys bathroom design help
Comments (15)Wait, I just re-read your original post and you said this is a new build. So are you sure you want to put in a fiberglass tub/shower unit? Is that because it's a more economical choice? I'm not a pro, but the ones I've seen don't look very good. Maybe there are some nice looking ones on the market that I am not aware of. If you do decide to go with fiberglass and you are less than happy with the looks, a really cute shower curtain will be helpful. And I seem to remember some people on this forum have shared links to some really fun online shower curtain sources. Your son might want to pick out a really unique design or a super-hero shower curtain or other design that he loves. I don't know the links, but maybe someone on here will post some for you. Your son has good taste. The light and the mirror are really cute. Good luck!...See Moremom2sulu
