Probably, you got a mislabeled one. If it is important to you, and if you still have the receipt, and if you have a photo showing the flower color (the last may or may not be necessary), then I would go back to whoever sold it to you, and complain. They SHOULD give you a pink one or refund most or all of your money. If you don't really care, and it's growing well, enjoy it, and let the matter go. You might want to give the seller a heads up that there is a problem, just for their information, but that's up to you. To my knowledge, soil acidity or lack thereof has no effect on dogwood bloom color - it's only certain hydrangeas that change color according to pH.

Were they pink last year, and white this year (a different flower altogether) or is the pink just bleached out somewhat (the flower is the same, it just looks washed out). If it is the latter, roses are sensitive to weather conditions and they just could be responding to that. Does the foliage look good otherwise--it's just the color of the flowers? If it is the former (totally different flower), I would wonder if the rootstock is taking over--though I get the impression that Flower Carpets are not grafted.

It looks like a Calathea, don;t know which one or even if it is for sure. Did you post on the houseplant forum?? Or tropicals forum?

The usually seen wild living version, with up-angled branches is P. pendula f. ascendens (Makino) Ohwi. So, yes, probably ideally the weeping version would be designated as a variant of the upright. With for whatever reason the above naming not having been replaced with new combinations that reflect this. A similar instance - depending on how, exactly Prunus pendula Maxim. originated - may be Phyllostachys nigra (Lodd. ex Lindl.)
