The rose you rescued looks suspiciously like 'Dr Huey' to me. If so, the rose that was originally planted was undoubtedly a different variety that was grafted onto 'Dr Huey' rootstock. If that's the case, the original rose failed to survive the neglect & the rootstock took over. If the rose is free of thorns (or has very few), and if it is producing long cains (like a climber -- which, from the photo, appears to be the case), then you can be fairly certain that your 'Annie' is indeed 'Dr Huey'. Thanks petaloid. These roses were actually sold by a small sidewalk vendor who bought them from a friend who bought them from a florist who bought them from one of the cut flower farmers somewhere in Baguio City, Philippines. As you can see, the vendor herself or her friend or the florist or the contract farmers don't have any idea. She just calls them big 'pink'roses and big 'white' roses. I would really appreciate an ID from others even just a guess as I like to know the names of the roses I buy. I buy these same roses for my vases 1 to 2 times a week so I would really like to know what their names are, having lived with them for years. tropical

Bella Donna looks spot-on. Mine has flat-topped buds, which Bella Donna has, and it does not have the strongly pleated petals that Petite Lisette has (there's a central fold in her petals that mine does not have so obviously). Petite Lisette (in pictures) is more strongly button-ed than my rose and has slightly pointier leaves, whereas the pictures of Bella Donna are not so buttoned and show more rounded foliage. Also, Bella Donna has a long bloom period (mine started first week of June, continues through today) and is "common" in PA... which helps because I'm in a "greater rednecklandia" section of Pennsylvania where folks would not have access to rare or unusual things. Size of plant matches up, size of bloom matches up, length of bloom matches up... yeah, I'll call this one good. Bella Donna it is. Thanks, everyone, for the help!
