Marcy, how sad! Did you have plants in your greenhouse? Can any of it -- plants or greenhouse materials -- be salvaged?

No storms in my neck of the woods (Virginia). I woke up with a summer cold coming on, but can't blame that on the weather.

Are you in Missouri or Arkansas? We have friends in both places with hail/wind damage.

I am truly sorry for your storm troubles! I am still getting back together after Hurricane Matthew in Florida since October, almost all done now.

I know it was bad in Oklahoma. I was talking to a friend on the phone while she was telling me how bad the weather was there. There were Tornadoes all over the place in that huge band of storms. We luckily missed it all.

Sorry about your greenhouse but glad it wasn't your actual house!

I'm in southern Illinois. In this area a small greenhouse like mine would have to be air conditioned during the summer or else the plants would cook!! It's used from the end of September to the first few weeks in April to grow potatoes, zucchini, tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, and several tender herbs like dill and basil, so the only items inside were a few pots and the metal shelves. The pots and shelves are good but the whole frame of the greenhouse was compromised when the wind pulled it away from its steel frame that was bolted into the concrete. I'll get a couple of pictures befor we remove the remains.

Bad storms here in mid-TN. They say our winds were 90-95mph. The lightning was something I have never seen before, it lit up a entire room for 15-30 seconds just as if you turned a light on. House, barns & animals are all fine. The fence line is another story, good thing they say no rain for most of the week.

Oh No. Your poor greenhouse. No experience with Spring and Summer storms here - ours occur in Fall and Winter so I've no understanding of them this time of year. Trying to deal with them, the garden and plantings when things are not dormant....I'd be lost.

That does look like a mess. Hopefully you can figure out a course of action before your greenhouse season starts again.

I was just in Chicago the past week, and no damage there. It just rained a lot. Sorry for the loss of your greenhouse. On my way back to my home in Wisconsin I pass the trailer park in Chetek that was hit by a tornado last week with the loss of 1 life. It's amazing to see the damage, and also amazing that only 1 person was killed. Total devastation.

Oh gosh, your poor greenhouse.
