Comments (30)Any simple gravy works fine. Or a complex one for that matter. Beef gravy, chicken gravy, doesn't bother me. Mashed potatoes without gravy is garbage. I've used the 3 condiment gravy and that's fine. Onion gravy goes well too. Lots of options. Makes a fine hot meatloaf sandwich. And sheesh, some just can't take a joke I guess. But you can offend some by saying good morning. And you'll definitely offend me by putting a 1" layer of ketchup, tomato sauce or soup on top of meatloaf you want me to eat. For a sandwich, I like some mayo, salad dressing or ranch dressing. Maybe some pepperoni or bacon with it. FWIW, all modular home are manufactured homes but not all manufactured homes are modular. Modular is more of a permanent setup, usually placed on private property and on a standard foundation and often with a basement in areas conducive to them. Moving them is more like moving a stick built dwelling. Manufactured homes are different than modular and although they can be put on a basement and standard foundation the setup is different since they have the steel framework underneath them that's used to assist in moving, thus more conducive to the "park" or rental property locations than modular as it's easier to move. You essentially attach wheels to a manufactured and it can be towed where a modular must be transported on a trailer. Another difference is US manufactured homes are built to HUD (national) standards while modular homes are built to state/local codes which in northern states are more strict. Generally a modular will be better insulated since northern climates require it. And so on. There's more, but it's getting OT. I learned a lot about them since I've been looking at buying one and made offers on several over the past few years. For that matter I have 2 at the lake place. Comments (14)I had a fun filled day shopping with Cheryl, Amber and Alyssa. I shopped in Goodwill and bought a very cute pop up pink princess castle tent for Alyssa and some really pretty shower hooks for my bathroom. They are in the shape of dogwood blossoms. I got my senior discount and I also used my Goodwill Reward's card for the first time and I got another $2.00 off, so I spent a total of $2.36 including the tax. We had lunch at Bob Evan's. I had the soup and salad combo and iced tea. I had the baked potato soup. I also had cherry bread with my meal but did not eat it. I sent it home with Amber. We then shopped for groceries in Meijer. Nice strawberries again this week for a dollar a pound. Not the best bargains this week but I did get some sliced boneless pork loin for $2.49 a pound. Comments (49)ChiSue...I loved your post and am guilty as charged...on some counts. One thing on the plate at a time? (OMG, the peas are *touching* the mashed potatoes!) That would be me...and I'm 59 years old. I do...not...want my food to touch. Okay, gravy may touch potatoes and/or meat. Butter may touch bread. But meat or potatoes should not touch bread. Ice cream can touch pie or cake. No veggies should ever touch any other veggie or any meat, or any bread. Ever. To prevent foods, especially veggies, from "touching" I use small bowls instead of a large dinner plate. Peas...in their own bowl. Salad...in it's own bowl. Grilled eggplant...on it's own saucer. Buttered potatoes...in a small bowl - so the butter does not melt, spread all over a plate, and lose it's close bond with the potatoes. A slice of meat on another small plate. I don't mind washing a few simple small bowls. I would mind if the foods were all jumbled together. Of course, at friends' or acquaintances' homes, I eat what's on my plate, usually one food at a time, and ignore the fact my food is touching. I love it when anyone invites me to dine with them; what an honor! One dear friend (seriously), knowing of my eating preferences, served my dinner on two of her toddlers' divided plates. Plenty of spaces for foods, none of which touched. I loved it. She gets me! Do you know people who salt their food before they taste it? Yep; my dear husband. No matter what is set on the table, and no matter how many or how few dishes I put it in...he sits down, looks at everything, picks up the salt shaker and shakes, shakes, shakes. Because of this I have stopped using salt in my recipes. I can at least regulate some of the salt he gets. Do you know people who 'defend' their plates and eat fast? I'm innocent of this one. Comments (23)I have changed my recipe and like my new one better. I can't find ground pork since the Covid shortages, so I use 1/2 pound of Jimmy Dean sausage with a pound of ground beef. I also like to add one cup of left over Mongolian BBQ, which is wok dish of shredded vegetables, sausage seasoned with garlic salt and chili oil. Also add torn bits of a slice of crustless bread soaked in water, salt, pepper, 2 Tablespoons of pepper, a beaten egg. Sure makes the meatloaf taste good....See Morelindac92
