The Spirea is very easy to grow...we have a shrub which is about 5 years old and every spring we have some "shoots" coming out from the roots. In this case you have to dig a bit till you see the shoot (about 2 feet high) and that's the place to cut.Around the shoot you see little roots (like hair)make shure you include this with the branch you are cutting. After the shoot is planted and is well established, you'll see some new growth on the stem. If you want a little tree, you cut the growth off and just have the top growing and shape it from time to time. The same thing with "pontentilla", the one with yellow flowers, except you cut this one very bottom of the shrub, put it in water, till you see the roots. Roses are difficult to grow, especially if they have a fungus (black spots,yellow leafs)you would have to pick the leafs and after spray it with water and dishdetergent mixed.

Okay...I guess I have to give him the benifit of doubt....He DID cut it and BURN it but he sucked up ahead of time....Out of the blue for our anniversary a few weeks ago he bought me new Canon Rebel XT....I was truly surprised...It was our 42nd anniversary...so you see...he must be worth something...I've kept him around a LONG time...and hope to keep him a lot longer...well....unless he burn more of my treasures... I'll rag on my son a little...We recently tore down an old shed...rented one of those big trash bins they bring in ...While we were gone he got that whole thing down and cleaned out...only problem was...he threw away my super old bicycle we called her dute da dute...after the music being played when the wicked witch in Wiz of Oz was riding the bike...do do do do do...Mine looked like that one. It was clear in the bottom of the bin and covered...I did rescue my rusty red wheelbarrow and an oval wash tub, they were at the top of the bin...but he threw away one of my galvanized watering cans and several enamelware bowls. I'm sure there was more that I can't remember right now. I'll probably be looking for them someday...oh ! I just remembered..my bowling balls...he got to them too...so he's on my list right now too...lol...

GG, I felt very lucky to have met Joni and have her pick out my plants, she is a wonderful person and I enjoyed our time together. Her red poodle Nico actually looked like her coat was an auburn/chocolate color but Joni told me she was red but the summer sun had darkened her color. I then asked her if the dogs coat had 'reverted' lol. Apricot is a pretty color no matter if it is a flower or an animal, I wholly agree with you on that. mairzy, like you, Joni also 'saw' more room for Hoyas so I will have to re-arrange things a bit and then build up my collection with another fun day trip down the highway. That aught to motivate me. Now, I need to save up again and toss out some furniture to make room for them. The cv.Mathilde is a beauty with new growth on 3 seperate vines, 2 of which are over a foot long. The bellas are so cute in their pot and I am going to baby them until they grow up nice and big and I am going to keep showing it a pic of Sue Trans bella that GG sent me the link to on another thread. The huge thing looked like a tree and had countless blooms on each branch. That was what sold me on the bellas. They are just the right size to 'dote' on. Melissa, SRQ are the call letters that identify the Sarasota airport, that is where Joni came up with the name. Her place is in Sarasota. You could probably cross alligator alley and shoot straight up 75 to Sarasota in about 2 hours I would guess. That would cost around the same as shipping and waiting for them to arrive, perhaps? I saw them all potted up and waiting to find a home, boy did they look cute ! I would advise anyone within driving distance to contact Joni and set up an appointment. Lol, Jane, we get to know CTS merchandise and can spot it. The aqua plates are salad size, they didn't have the dinners. :( But the mocha were nice, from Portugal and I think I will find some interesting combos for it with Fall coming. Luvs, I did take the header out to make it a little larger. And then just hemmed them. I only finished 2 so far, but for .47 cents new, I thought it would be fun! Jeanne, I figured I can always donate it back! It is for charity! I got 4 of those plates and 4 of the mocha bowls. Jay, I found the same candleholders on ebay for $25, so I guess 5 was good. Candy, I don't have the shops you mention, just little thrift shops for the hospital, etc. And they are very expensive. I thought Savers was priced fairly, but maybe they will go up .
