She looks gorgeous but I hope there aren't too many copycats because there aren't many people that can pull off that cut. The Middleton girls should thank their parents for their long willowy waists.

Well, they are both very very slender, and that surely helps. But I still think that look or similar is a lot easier to pull off than than strapless, esp the kind of strapless people do now.

I think the neckline frames her face beautifully. I saw one pic of the entire dress, down to the hem. It brushed the ground a bit in the front. She had the sheer veil over her face. She looked just lovely and I would not change a thing. My goodness, those Middleton girls have done well!

I have been looking at all the great photos of this event. The kids are so adorable! But I immediately thought of all the "what to wear to a wedding" threads when I saw this picture.

Hmmm... that red and blue tartan would be awesome in a kilt. In pants, not so much!

I think Pippa's dress is lovely. I have become so jaded watching "Say Yes To The Dress" where everyone wants cleavage, see thru bodice etc. Gah! I have a question: Was Kate Pippa's Matron of Honor? When Pippa was the Maid of Honor, she wore a long white dress. Kate's outfit didn't look bridal party to me.

A timeless design-it reminds me a little of my mom's wedding dress, but the skirt of Mom's was fuller. My parents got married in 1955, and her dress was by Priscilla of Boston.

I agree with Mtn about the female guests' outfits-horrible. Wish we could see the ones walking behind-their's look much better from what I can see. I love those flowers outside the church.

Holy cow, I am making this very dress for my dtr right now, with a couple changes...the sleeves on A's gown will go to just below her biceps, and she does not want a train. I can't wait to see the back of Pippa's gown. A's gown will have a keyhole back, the better to show off the cut out petals of the lace against her back, the way it does around Pippa's neck and arms.

I CANT WAIT UNTIL A. SEES THIS GOWN!!! YIPPEE!!! She was worried about too much of a good thing with all the lace, hence no train. Her wedding is in July, no word on whether she will wear a veil yet.

I adored how the kids were dressed, especially the boys. Loved Pippa's dress, but wasn't too fond of Kate's. I think it was her hat, it seemed to make her a bit matronly.

One thing I've noticed over the years by looking at pictures of European weddings, is they dress a lot better than we do!

Mtn - Snort! Giggle! Is that Len Goodman next to witch's hat lady? I am so glad she, like Kate, wore a simply elegant dress. I wouldn't vote for the high neck, but thank goodness, no flounces and no boob mirage, as a groom-to-be said on Say Yes to the Dress.

Pippa's dress is perfect. When I was a little girl, my mom would do line drawings of brides for me to color. Her dresses looked just like Pippa's with the sweetheart neckline, lace and cap sleeve.

Kate was not in the wedding party. It was thought that she might do a reading, but I haven't seen that confirmed.

I liked that Pippa's gown had a high collar, but it was just meh for me. I liked Kate's gown much better.

Its hard to overstate how pefect a coat dress combo is for an upper class English wedding. And the ridiculous hat really must match.

Yes, in the thread about raincoats I was bemoaning the disappearance of that look. I think I had them for Easter Sunday as a little girl, and never since, but it is so elegant.

It's a beautiful wedding dress, it's so elegant without being fussy. I'm not really liking Kate's hat, but I thought their mother Carole's hat was a nice complement to her dress, it softens it and creates a nice look.

My dtr married an Englishman last summer. Many members of his family came to the US for the wedding. All the women, including his mum, nan (grand mother), and younger sister all wore coat dress combos with matching shoes, clutches, and fascinators. I wore a hat which made them very happy, but it was no comparison to theirs. And my shoes did not match my outfit!

I love that term, "fascinator".

I love Pippa's dress. It actually looks a bit like mine did though I didn't have all the lace.

This website is one of my favorite guilty pleasures and there are tons of interesting comments about the dress, the Middletons, The Royal Family, etc. The title of the blog might be a little off putting but the posts are funny and charming and intelligent.
