I have already planned a party for that day and I have 24 pairs of special solar eclipse glasses on the ready. I am so excited for this and we are less than 100 miles from what they are saying is the absolute best place to view this in Kentucky. I am having a party and I have invited people but they seem more excited about a party than they do the eclipse. I have told them that this is a historic event and quite possibly the last one I will see in my life. The small town in Kentucky is really gearing up for this thing and so am I. It is also the day after my birthday. I'm in. I already scheduled my day off work like 3 months ago.

A grocery clerk this evening told me that his friend is planning to buy several cases of water, put them on ice and deliver them to people stuck in their cars on the roads. He would accept donations, but no obligation-I thought that was a super idea. We're expecting over half a million people in our town. My office will pretty much be empty-I don't know who will be there, but I know I'm not going to be! We're mandated by law to be open, so it may just be the Director answering the phone, LoL.

100% in little Sparta, TN, a pretty two hour drive from Huntsville, AL. We kept to the back roads the whole time, saw very little eclipse traffic. We enjoyed a spectacular experience with a small contingent of like-minded stranger/friends on a private little knoll; I'll never forget it. It was my second total eclipse and I felt so rewarded to know that my 47 year old memory was vividly accurate! It was a fabulous, memorable experience.

I have never understood why astrologers would go to the effort to learn the constellations and when they will appear in the sky, and where relative to the constellations the planets can be found, without then also learning that the locations of the planets are predictable because of the physics of mass and gravity. And the same math that will determine where the planets will be, also clearly shows that the gravitational influence exerted on you by any of the non-earth planets is significantly less than that exerted on you by a large truck driving past your house.
